Very strategic, coffee-break roguelike with tons of replayability and great music. Been playing it for almost ten years now and will so for at least ten more.
Very fun and addictive game. I like all the different character classes, difficulty options, spells, potions and upgrade unlocks. I first found this game online years ago and played it a ton. It's nice to revisit it here on Steam. Oh, and the music is good, too.
I've previously played Cardinal Quest 2 multiple times on occasion as a flash game on Kongregate. It is a pleasant surprise to see this game again on Steam & immediately picked it back up. If you want a gateway introduction to rogue-likes & you are a casual player, this game could be for you. The unlocking system VIA achievements by playing the game is neat, making the player learn the basic mechanics, abilities & has a simple skill tree system whenever you level up. You are able to pick & choose your battles, loot every single chest, and/or hard clear every single floor of enemies. Depending on your play style, be it an achievement hunter, a speed runner, or just want a general time sink, the game is quite flexible & can cater to those approaches. The minimalist pixel art style is easy on the eyes & a delightful edition to the gameplay. Dialogue for each class that you play through the three acts is straight to the point & enhances the experience.
very fun game. easy to learn, hard to master. lots of different options for creative dungeoning.
I have over 900 hours on this game on my phone. I've been playing this game since it was on Kongregate.com when I was in high school. I have every achievement except for Legendary Score and Can't Touch This. The change from using Morale in the iOS version to now unlocking achievements in order to unlock character options is interesting, and I can't wait to unlock everything all over again. Would highly recommend.
I like lightweight, but this is TOO lightweight. I can't for the life of me figure out why they limited the number of abilities to 5, it would have been SO easy to simply allow the player to equip whatever abilities they find and scrap the ones they don't want for gp just like items. Really, really strange decision, especially since when you're limited to 5 there is absolutely no way you are ever going to pick up anything but the most broken, overpowered utility.
There were no red birds. :(
I had hundreds of hours on the iOS version. This is nicely optimised for PC so I'm looking forward to having some more fun time with this great game!
