After losing his arm in a terrible encounter with the legendary Vampire Whale, Wayne replaced it with his trusty shotgun, The Captain's Ol' Reliable, and sailed with it across the seven-and-a-half seas in his vessel, the S.S. Salty.
When an unexpected run-in with a group of evil mercenaries leaves him marooned on Orca Isle with his ship stolen, Wayne starts doing what he does best: annihilating everyone responsible.
Equipped with a double barreled shotgun for an arm, countless explosives, and a bad attitude, you’ll have to go toe-to-toe with The Killer Whales, the most ruthless mercenaries in all the seven-and-a-half seas.
DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES TO EMBODY THE CAPTAIN? Let’s find out.

Mow down enemies with your double-barreled arm, rip enemies apart with devious chain-gun fingers, toss a bottle of the explosive Boom Brew, unleash the force of thunder from your palms, or PUNCH THEM ‘TIL THEY’RE PASTE!

Those Killer Whales bastards aren’t gonna slaughter themselves! It’s time to rob the rich to feed the badass.

the dev gotta have fun while making this game
CAPTAIN WAYNE - VACATION DESPERATION is a hidden gem and I can easily recommend it to someone who enjoys a good boomer shooter. The standout feature of CAPTAIN WAYNE is the HUMOROUS TONE, and the EXCELLENT CUTSCENES sprinkled throughout the campaign. This game is genuinely funny throughout its duration, which I can't say for almost any other game. The campaign is kinda short but densely packed with fun and diverse levels, and sandwiched by amazing cutscenes. The weapon roster is creative and fun, and I really like the enemy roster for the most part too. There is a really cool KICK MECHANIC which shoots you forward at great speeds. The game utilizes this kick within combat itself, and as a tool for platforming, and I found it to be super fun. There is a good amount of PLATFORMING in this game but it was never frustrating to me, and it helps pace out the levels. There's also a horde mode available and I think it's alright. It's a fun supplemental game mode but is pretty tedious if you are trying to go for all the achievements. CAPTAIN WAYNE is only $10 full price, and it goes on sale often for way less and I can easily recommend it at those prices. This game rules and is very underappreciated!

I love the aesthetic, the writing, the cutscenes, the amateur VA, and even how the gameplay feels. But the gunplay messed me up. Part of me thinks it's because I was born too late to appreciate this particular lineage of boomer shooter, but others point out "design decisions" which are - for better or worse - partially taken from the boomer shooters of old too. I do sympathize with the fellow reviewers, some level designs grow increasingly esoteric and interlocked (such as requiring multiple keys and backtracking), though admittedly this is indeed pulling from games like DOOM and not necessarily the devs' fault for being faithful. What kills me is that I never got quite good at Captain Wayne. I struggled through the earlier levels and for the later ones, I just turned on god mode. As a consequence I paid a little more attention to the enemy spawns and they were fairly formulaic, ascending in difficulty with each wave whenever there's a horde attack. I did see the Antonblast influence with that last level being timed, as well as a runback - nice.
Pretty fun. Its kinda janky and the bosses arent that good, but theres only like three of those so, it doesnt matter
AHOY
каждый мужчина хочет руки как у Капитана ВЕЙНА ЧТОБ бесконеечно вертеть пулемет это легендарно якорь мне зад/10
Cool stuff, short and dynamic with great music and some theater kid-esque characters (with voices that are too quiet).
Cutscenes need subtitles or actual proper voice mixing, gameplay doesn't need enemy spamming everywhere, also bloated enemy HPs for no reason. Story, art and music were nice but I had a ♥♥♥♥ time
I loved Captain Wayne - Vacation Desperation!
