Cartoon - Strategy - Action I loved the silly story and characters, the Tower Defense element and strategize the toonrrets positions are key to success. The shooting can be a bit spammy at the beginning but the tech tree will take care of that problem quick enough. The latino references are right in my alley, I love that the team got to a point where they could just add a little bit of their culture into a game without getting in the way of the world or making in unaccessible to other cultures. Had a lot of fun and I can't wait for what comes next for the Captain! Fear The Mighty Chancla.
Fun tower defence game which can get hard at times. There are only 4 towers but they seem to cover all types. There are only two weapons which is a bit limited and I did wish the projectiles of your guns were faster.
This looks like a really fun game. I don't know if I'm that dumb or what but i wish i could hit (new game) to fill my eyes with the relish this game is perceiving to be! Love the title screen though!
I bought this game quite some time ago and only got to play it today. It is a very polished game with an incredibly cool style that shows in gameplay, retro-inspired menus, and interface elements. I wholly recommend this game even if it's not on sale, and I'll be back in it shortly once my headset finishes charging.
Captain ToonHead vs the Punks from Outer Space
Best VR Tower Defense game I have played. If you are Quest 2 player, don't use virtual desktop, you wont be able to remove towers for some reasons, use airlink.
Captain Toonhead Vs the Punks From Outer Space is an FPS / tower defense game. That might seem odd but VR makes this combo possible. It also has some of the craziest situations, humor, and characters. Attack neon punk enemies, crazy robot chickens, huge T-rexs, sharks, and more with an equally crazy variety of weapons – like a hot sauce tower, fireworks, snowman freeze, and pinata bombs! Although the game is pretty easy to learn it is challenging enough to master. The various ridiculous and funny types of bad guys come at you. Mixing that with equally ridiculous and funny weapons and towers. Fight them off using a combination of FPS and tower defense. It just works. All of these things make Captain Toonhead a really great and fun game in VR. Full Review - https://www.worldofgeekstuff.com/captain-toonhead-vs-the-punks-from-outer-space-review/
I rather enjoy a good tower defense and I've yet to really try one out in VR, so First impressions It's ok, I love the art style, the music reminds me of ratchet and clank, my biggest complaint has to be the very restricted movement system, I appreciate being able to teleport between turrets and to a birds eye view but I'd much prefer to move around freely. It's a fun little game I'd play in chunks, couldn't see myself playing this for a long time though
Lot of shine and personality for a VR game. I love TD and it does first person TD well enough. Could have used some more stand alone challenge maps like endless mode after campaign though to pad out replayability. Overall not bad for what it is. Hopefully a sequel might get more meat on the bones.
