I'm using the Standard HTC Vive and Tracked Controllers. This looks like a great game, but it's difficult to navigate with the HTC Vive. I only tried the Bow & Arrow thus far because choosing the weapons was a bit of a feat with my controllers. I just pressed a couple of buttons until I was able to grab it in the Menu. The menu system is actually very well done, because instead of the tutorial saying "Press A" for whatever, the menu comes up in a HUD so you can select items with your hands / controllers. It is kind of like a "Final Assault" type menu if you've played that game in VR. This is how VR games are supposed to be developed. You should not need an Xbox-type controller with a bunch of buttons all over the place to play a VR game. You can select things inside the game, which adds to the immersion effect of VR. Buttons on controllers are for 2D flatscreen games that are less immersive by nature. In any event, the Bow and Arrow weapon does not seem to align properly with your hands on the HTC Vive system. I need to lift the bow up high and ♥♥♥♥ it at a odd angle to hit the enemy. It just needs some fine tuning up to get it perfected. Developer, just let me know if you need someone to help you test this for the HTC Vive so you can improve your game and increase your market share here on Steam. I am happy to lend my time and assistance, free of charge, for what should be an awesome Tower Defense game in VR, of which there are only a very precious few. You got a potential winner here!
Until some updates come out I can't recommend this game. Once it gets some updates, this is an EASY recommendation for anyone who likes tower defense. I found, at least what I could play of it, the core game loop is very fun and I'd love to see this game brought beyond alpha/beta stage. Pros: -Perfectly captures the core of tower defense games in a VR setting. -Is fun! -Map layout is easy to follow and plan for. -Obvious positioning for towers. -Game runs smoothly and movement is satisfactorily speedy. -Most weapons work quiet well and as expected. Cons: (most of these are pretty minor/easy to adjust) -Weapons need some work: Damage adjustment, melee doesn't connect and the spear is virtually unstable. -Tutorial is a bit lacking considering controls are unlabeled but there aren't a ton of controls so it's easy to figure things out with a few minutes of trial and error. -Thrown weapons don't disappear, I could see this turning into a bug or cause optimization issues as you add an indefinite amounts of objects into the map. -Could use more variety of mob types as everything feels like the HP bar was just amped and one or two guys had their speed increased. Could add resistant/immune to damage types, greater changes in speed, spawns more mobs upon death, etc. Bugs: (the reason for the negative rating) -First level doesn't seem to have a win condition. I've 'beaten' the first level 3 times and instead of a 'you win' after the final wave you end up just sitting on the map with no further waves coming, I've waited for up to 5 minutes. If there is an action I need to take to complete the round, I couldn't find it. -Upon restarting the level when the first round was "won", the game wouldn't spawn any mobs beyond the first three 'tutorial' mobs, took a full game reboot to get working again. -No mob/weapon collision making the weapons deal damage to all mobs in the line of fire. -Weapon selection is a bit of a mystery to me. No obvious indicator for which weapon is selected and if you select an already selected weapon it no longer spawns (until you select it again).
