Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare – Campaign Review 15 hours Veteran difficulty 45/45 achievements unlocked Completed January 2026 I really enjoyed this campaign. Playing in 4K with very high frame rates helped this game pass easily as a modern title. It still looks and feels impressive today. You can tell how much effort went into the voice acting, motion capture, and overall presentation. The performances, especially from Kevin Spacey and Troy Baker, stood out and gave the story more weight than I expected. I’m honestly not sure why this game was so divisive at launch. The amount of effort Sledgehammer Games put into this title is obvious. I suspect the futuristic gameplay and movement mechanics pushed some people away, but for me, that was a strength. I appreciated that it didn’t feel like every other Call of Duty at the time. The story itself wasn’t anything groundbreaking, but the pacing and performances kept me engaged throughout. The character models and cutscenes, in particular, really impressed me and still hold up surprisingly well. This ended up being one of my favorite Call of Duty campaigns that I missed back in the day. Overall, I’d give it an 8/10.

It’s House of Cards meets Michael Bay. And yes, it’s as cursed as it sounds.

When comparing to the latest releases (MW3, MW4 (BO6), MW5 (BO7)), this is by sooo far better its simply absolute carnage how COD has fallen. The Campaign is so insanely well done with all its feautures that you can really tell how much soul is missing in the latest releases. So overall would recommend to play the campaign as its really nice! 9/10 just for the story.

Call of Duty doesn’t feel the same anymore. Playing this campaign reminds me how good the older COD titles used to be—focused story, memorable missions, and a proper sense of progression. Compared to the recent COD games, this one actually feels engaging and enjoyable. It brings back the classic COD vibe that today’s releases fail to capture.

Buy on sale, for single player. Don't play on Veteran, the friendly AI sucks and is allied with the enemy AI, you have to shoot EVERYTHING YOURSELF. Baghdad missions are specifically notorious for this, and well enemy AI is also bad at veteran, its just that way too many in count, and I have run out of bullets multiple times. Stick to regular, enjoy the popcorn campaign, and uninstall. There isn't much to this game, consider this a movie you went to play instead of watch, and be done.
