TO ENTENDENDO NADA MAS É JOGASSO
'' Ph'nglui mglw'nafh Cthulhu R'lyeh wgah'nagl fhtagn ''
A short story based game, inspired by the story with the same name, I recommend for people that love Lovecraftian things and this game is good value for the time it can take.

Thats one of the best games ive played, me and my brother loved the myth cthulhu and this game was so peak I def recommend it and no im not a bot lol
Nota: 7.5/10

Okay I just finished my playthrough and overall I do recommend the game eventho I do have some issues with it. Spoilers ahead. [Spoiler] I am lowkey really dissapointed with the endings, and like the whole secoond half to last third of the game. I get it's not easy to make a game about cosmic/eldritch horror, and especially meet people's expectations with something like Cthulhu. But there's just too much that's bad. First the writing: It's just...not good. Don't get me wrong, there's many things that I think are well done about it. The premise is really cool and fun, setting the scene of arriving at the island and meeting the first few characters. Also the characters in general are writtten really well here in the beginning, seeing the people's dynamics with each other and you. The writing and pacing too is really good till after you leave the bookstore and go find Shara. And then it just keeps going downhill for me. The dynamics all start to not matter anymore? Like that the way I talk to people doesn't really have an influence, eventho the game like puts that in as a mechanic. Alsoo just in general the whole "This will afect your destiny" thing. Did it? I don't ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ know, and I think that's bad design if I can't feel how or even if my choices had any kind oof impact. What does it matter who I save with the medkit? Neither of them shows up again, nor do I really care for either. The whole theme of destiny was not handled very well, they keep saying your fait has already been written, constanly giving me the feeling like it doesn't matter what I do, which it kinda doesn't tbh? Or it doesn't really feel like it. In the end I get to make a descison to either do the ritual or not and both endings were so dissatisfying. Either I do a counter ritual which takes five seconds and is really unpectacular, my eyes turn black and thats it. Credits roll. And I get to see myself in an asylum. Or the other one, I free cuthulu only to see it for split second not even really able to look at it or interact with it any further, then credits, and people mashing each other against rocks cause they've gone mad. Like... The whole last encounter too was so irritating, slowly walking and limbing around, random vision things that just kinda keep repeating empty phrases and then two dissapointing endings. The whole story arc with Cat feels like it was completely pointless and could easily be taken out the game. It felt like it was set up like so much more. Then other characters you meet once and then only in the end. Like the bartender, why would I save him? I had one encunter and he wasn't treating me super nicely (which made sense dont get me wrong), why should I save him over Cat if I had at least a few more interactions with her. Fitzroy, he got introduced as a genuinly inresting guy, only interacted once in the beginning and then in the end. And the character writing just gets not really good towards the end. And there's so many things that don't make sense imo, it feels all so dissconected and random. Why is Pierce confused to see the doctor, saying you're dead after literally EVERYTHING else he just encountered? And there's so many of that kinda stuff in the ending especially. The weirdness is so unsatisfyingly made. I get the game is abut madness and loosing your mind, but the way they executed that in the latter half is just...not good at all and just made me go "what- why did that just happen? what is the pint of this?" and to then just go and say "well its about madness what did you expect" is lazy. It feels like the game forgot what it was trying to tell. The gameplay: I really enjoy the detective aspect of it, the investigation and skill system. And those moments where you enter the investigation mode or whatever you call it. That's pretty cool. But gsh are the monster encounters not good. They're not horrible, but they're more frustrating than anything really. Also in many cases it feels like there are puzzels that are taking me out f the imersion and just feel like they serve, we need more gameplay, the thing where you have to turn the two walves to fire the oven felt so weird. But again, overall the game is a fun expierience. Especially in the first half/first two thirds where the gamelay and story peaks. Ignoring the ending I had fun regardless of the things I think were done badly. And I do think it's an exierience worth having. [Spoiler]
Game nicely feels the Lovecraft stories
Very atmospheric, with about 15 hours neither too short nor too long, storytelling instead of jumpscares. A must for fans of the genre!
