i don't even know when i got this, but finally gave it a try, and it's been quite the pixel ride for me! the whole look&feel felt like this was from the late 90s. it has some minor flaws and bumps, but hey, thats what these games had been in the 90s!. a half decent cyberpunk setting, with just the right amount of humor, good voice overs and a good variety of scenes. riddles had been rather mixted, and some (
like the super random maze
) are even super annoying like... they had been back in the 90s! what surprised me most was, that i liked basically all characters and even the less important npcs. greast casting one could say!
I even enjoyed grandmaster flash a lot. if you can't stand him turn up your irony sensors... drek!
there are three cons though: 1) playtime is a notch too short. or: i would have loved to play more of it. 2) this been on kickstarter and seems the dev stopped before all promised ports been done. doesnt affect me as i am happy with the steam release... still a big boo! on this. 3) the end.
i think no game ending disappointed me like this since mass effect 3... in multiple ways. i would have accepted this as a cliff hanger - but as the dev didnt post any news in years it's really the end... DREK!!
everything before the end had been enjoyable though. so if you like old point&click adventures give it a try - because of the cons i would definitly wait for a sale or bundle though.
EDIT: Ah, I learnt that I had to click on one save slot, then click on "Save game" on the right side of the menu during gameplay. It was nice to see various activites when I got up on the roof. The guitar hero, the boxing guy, etc. and nice to see an active spaceship station. So far the game is enticing and I'm looking forward to play more. The UI is not so user-friendly, but I think I'll be better at it with time. Hi, so far the game is great. But I am not able to save. I tried F4 or Esc, then Save game, but nothing happens. I tried F5, and Quicksave was completed, but I am not able to resume from that quicksave. I tried Load game afterwards, but it was not possible to load any games, because it was not saved? Can it be fixed?
Don't sleep on this point and click like i almost did .This a well made point and click sci fi adventure game. Great pixal art, story, characters , puzzles, and music. The voice acting is really good , flash almost makes think of the android characters robin Williams has played. All the characters have really distinct voices/accents. This has really unique and in depth world building for a cyberpunk setting ,i like that it isn't totally grim dark and has lots of humorous moments. Slight spoilers the ending is good ,but a to be continued kinda situation which will leave you wanting more. here's hoping that this game gets it sequel in the future.
Nice looking game, interesting story, and fun to play. Still, at some point the mouse stops responding and there's no way to make it work again. Such a complete waste of time that completely destroyed the experience.
A really fun, dramatic, and funny point-and-click. I loved the story and the music, overall a really good game.
Nice game! Nice art, decent plot, quality writing and voice acting. A bit rough around the edges in the puzzle department, but solid recommendation overall.
Daher Daumen runter. Schade drum.
I don’t agree with giving this game a negative review. Is it perfect? No, but most games aren’t. It has great pixel art and I really enjoyed the story, as well as being able to play more than one character. Being locked out of the game by solving a puzzle in a different way than how intended, is certainly an issue—but avoidable. Any game that I get a lot of enjoyment out of playing deserves a thumb’s up imo, and I certainly had a good time playing this one. 👍🏼 👍🏼
Born Punk has its moments. The puzzles are fine, Flash is cool and all. But overall, i feel i couldve passed on playing this.
