Hard to believe I started here, it feels slow and less shiny but with way more captivating dialogue, atmosphere and progression. As usual we have some 2K shenanigans going on but might as well ignore it by now.
even for an old game borderlands still plays awesome and very addicting

fun, hurts my eyes
Borderlands may be a quality looter shooter game thought the first Borderlands is the weakest entry especially there's been an improved remaster version, I've even finished this on Xbox & I thought this one was repeative, searching for pearlscents is a nightmare sometimes, I eventually start giving up searching for them, all though the story isn't even that good which puts me off from playing it, Gameplay does what it does by shooting enemies & other stuff that comes your way, takes a long time to level up in this Borderlands compared to Pre Sequel & 2, only option is to farm enemies, even I find doing that repeative over and over again, the game may be special with Crawmerax & all these other raid bosses you find. I like to skip this game & go straight to Pre Sequel & 2 which are much better when it comes to Borderlands. I also don't think the Remastered version is worth it unless you get it on Sale on Steam, nope its not worth the full price & I'm not a fan of the first Borderlands game compared to the others I don't recommend this game but make sure you get the Borderlands that features Handsome Jack it's much better, another thing there's no adaptive shields which lets you heal up your character or even absorb shields if your playing it by yourself, only solution is to co-op with someone as it's the only way to get through the game. This may be a first Borderlands game but I like to forget about this one & move on to the next instead, by the way this game has annoying robot called Claptrap which the robot is featured in other Borderlands games like in Pre Sequel & 2. Yeah I don't think Gearbox is going to forget about Claptrap so your going to have to get used to the robots voice, probably an iconic robot that started Borderlands off in the first place.
Still my favourite in the series tbh, The DLC really hit back in the day, rented this game for like a month trying to complete it

Fun way better than the enhanced version
This review is not nostalgia based whatsoever, this game is genuinely very good imo. The story, mechanics, environment, etc. are amazing. I played this game on PS3 when I was younger but never got past sledge lol Playing it now after it sat in my steam library for god knows how long I've realized this game is an absolute masterpiece. Again this is only my personal opinion of the game. Now to get to the nitty gritty of why i originally left a bad review. This might've been a user or computer error on my part, but from researching intensely online for days before I fixed my issue it seemed like a lot of other people had the same issue as me. This issue was that the game would. not. save. It just would not save my progress no matter how much I tried. I played for 3-4 hours straight and got all the way to Sledge just to take a break from the game, come back and see the game reset me to lvl 1 right when you get out of the bus. Now I'm not stupid and did everything correctly before exiting the game. Well come to find out I was never the only one to have this issue, as I found a lot of people on reddit and other forums describing the same thing happening to them. Most of them were after they had played the game and it had previously saved, which was also strange. So I found the ONLY way to fix this (for me) was to: - Find your save folder and uncheck "Read-Only" - Make the Borderlands.exe file an exception in your anti-virus - Always run the game as Administrator I would go more in-depth but I used a forum or reddit post that I can no longer find to help me. That concludes my review of Borderlands. Basically the game is really fun and has a great story and atmosphere. However since it is an older title there might be some things you need to do in order to play properly.
