Borderlands Game of the Year

Great game 10/10

Still the best borderlands experience available. Unless you are a young kiddo that absolutely requires trendy and/or simplified experiences to enjoy yourself, of course lol

i am surprised you can get the original version of the goty version of borderlands. i can't really tell you the difference between this and the re-release of this. i can say that this version still runs perfectly fine. i only had a couple problems like the top of a few sets of stairs having collision issues where you would need to jump to get past the very top of the staircase, and mostly in the knoxx dlc where audio logs would cut out halfway through, which could be fixed by pausing the game and returning to the game. it is still a great borderlands game. the first entry to pandora and the universe it has turned into, getting a glimpse of the terrible desert planet where everything is trying to kill you, and everything sucks. it is surprisingly fairly normal and serious with hints of goofiness added to it. not until the dlc did you really get the best humor, i believe the knoxx dlc is the best of them all, it has the most goofy thigs you can se borderlands evolving from. of al the games, i think they are all fine, but this first game, i still believe is the best designed of everything. it hit that sweet spot of sci-fi space western in a giant desert. it truly is the wild west.

Borderlands GOTY é aquele tipo de jogo que envelheceu com personalidade. Misturando FPS com RPG e um sistema de loot quase viciante, ele ainda consegue prender mesmo anos depois do lançamento. O grande destaque aqui é o ciclo de gameplay: explorar, enfrentar inimigos, coletar armas absurdamente variadas e repetir. A quantidade de armas é insana, e o jogo realmente incentiva experimentar builds diferentes. Cada personagem tem habilidades únicas que mudam bastante a forma de jogar, o que ajuda na rejogabilidade. O estilo visual em cel-shading também merece elogio — ele não só dá identidade ao jogo como ajuda a mascarar o envelhecimento gráfico. A ambientação de Pandora é desolada, mas cheia de humor ácido e momentos inesperados. Por outro lado, nem tudo é perfeito. As missões podem ficar repetitivas depois de um tempo, geralmente envolvendo “vá até tal lugar, elimine inimigos e volte”. Além disso, a história não é tão marcante quanto nos jogos mais recentes da franquia, e a falta de um minimapa mais intuitivo pode incomodar. O combate, apesar de satisfatório, pode parecer um pouco “duro” comparado a padrões atuais, especialmente para quem vem de shooters mais modernos. Mesmo com esses pontos, Borderlands GOTY continua sendo uma experiência divertida, principalmente em coop — que é, sem dúvida, a melhor forma de jogar. Resumo: Um clássico do looter-shooter que ainda diverte, mesmo com algumas limitações da época. Recomendado? Sim, especialmente se você gosta de loot, coop e humor meio caótico.

This is a fantastic game to immerse yourself in for several hours. Although it is a classic title, it remains outstanding; it offers a fun experience and a vibrant open world filled with various engagements.

The only thing more disappointing than quests and what I find inside chests (looter shooter btw) is the ending. I am dumbfounded. How this game spawned a franchise with lots of sequels and spin-offs is for me an enigma that I cannot solve alone.
