6/10 A cute puzzle game about decorating pumpkins. What is it: A puzzle game where you have to paint pumpkins, using different masking devices to block areas that you don't want painted, to re-create the target model. A Halloween-themed version of Factory Balls. How hard is it: Easy. The first few levels may require some trial and error, but once you get the hang of it, it shouldn't be hard at all to finish every level. You can always retry or re-paint if you made a mistake. How long is it: Only 42 levels, which can be finished in 30-60 minutes, but there is a Daily Puzzle that keeps you coming back each day. Level design: OK. The parent game, Factory Balls, had more diversity, but this only uses a small set of tools, which limits what kinds of designs can be achieved. Still, given the theme, the few levels present in the game are "nice", and they don't feel too repetitive. However, the auto-generated daily levels do feel repetitive, the ones I've seen so far are too similar to each other, and not really good looking. It really shows that manually crafted pumpkin designs are way better than the autogenerated noise. Quality: Decent. The game works without any issues, but there aren't many settings, no exit button other than the OS's close, no undo, no reset, but given how short the levels are, there is no need for them. Has achievements, but no cloud saving. Worth the price: Given how short it is, wait for a sale. Most positive aspect for me: Fun pumpkin designs. Most negative aspect for me: The daily levels are uninspired. Also consider: Factory Balls, a longer version of this game without the Halloween theme. Short, but gets challenging quickly! Another great expansion of a classic game from Bart. If you like the Factory Balls series, definitely pick up Boo! as well. And with the daily puzzles, you have endless replayability.
I Love the Factory Balls game series, this one is pretty cool since it feature daily gameplay.
Boo! is a cleverly designed puzzle game that captures the playful atmosphere of Halloween through a series of imaginative logic challenges. Developed and published by Bart Bonte, the game embraces a minimalist philosophy, proving that engaging gameplay does not require flashy presentation or complex mechanics. Instead, it focuses on thoughtful puzzle construction, inviting players to recreate uniquely designed pumpkins by carefully applying colors, masks, and decorations in the correct sequence. What initially appears to be a straightforward concept gradually evolves into an increasingly rewarding mental exercise that constantly encourages experimentation and observation. The gameplay centers on solving 42 handcrafted puzzles, each presenting a target pumpkin that players must accurately reproduce. Every available tool interacts with the pumpkin differently, and the order in which paints and accessories are applied plays a crucial role in determining the final result. Success depends less on trial and error and more on recognizing patterns, understanding how each action affects previous layers, and planning moves ahead of time. As additional mechanics are introduced, the puzzles naturally become more sophisticated while remaining intuitive enough for newcomers to grasp without lengthy tutorials or overwhelming instructions. One of the game's strongest qualities is its elegant pacing. Early puzzles ease players into the mechanics, allowing them to become familiar with the interactions before introducing more demanding combinations. This steady learning curve ensures that every new challenge feels like a logical extension of previous lessons rather than an abrupt difficulty spike. Each completed puzzle delivers a satisfying sense of accomplishment because the solutions rely on reasoning and creativity instead of luck, making the overall progression consistently enjoyable from beginning to end. Boo! also succeeds in creating a relaxing atmosphere through its clean presentation. The colorful pumpkins, vibrant paints, and festive Halloween theme give the game plenty of personality without cluttering the screen. Its minimalist visual style keeps every interactive element easy to recognize, allowing players to remain focused entirely on solving puzzles. Accompanied by a calm presentation and simple controls, the experience feels welcoming to players of all ages, making it an ideal choice for both short play sessions and longer puzzle-solving marathons. Beyond the main campaign, the inclusion of a daily puzzle mode provides additional value by giving players fresh challenges after finishing the original levels. This feature extends the game's longevity while encouraging returning players to continue sharpening their problem-solving skills. Although the overall adventure is relatively brief compared to larger puzzle collections, the consistently high quality of each level ensures that the experience remains memorable. The absence of unnecessary filler helps every puzzle feel purposeful and carefully designed. Players looking for an action-packed Halloween adventure or a story-driven experience may find Boo!'s minimalist scope somewhat limited. However, those who appreciate elegant puzzle design will likely find its focused approach to be one of its greatest strengths. Every mechanic serves the central gameplay, resulting in an experience that is polished, accessible, and intellectually satisfying without becoming frustrating or repetitive. Boo! demonstrates how a simple idea can be transformed into an engaging puzzle game through intelligent design and thoughtful progression. Bart Bonte successfully combines seasonal charm with rewarding logic puzzles, creating an experience that is easy to learn yet capable of challenging players throughout its entire campaign. Its accessible mechanics, clever level design, relaxing presentation, and replayable daily puzzles make it a worthwhile addition to the library of anyone who enjoys brain teasers. While modest in scope, it delivers exactly what it sets out to accomplish with remarkable consistency. Rating: 8/10

Saw this game recommended on Youtube and I am so happy I purchased it! It is a clean, simple design with a fun theme, but the standout element is most definitely the puzzle nature! The levels require a unique set of logic, spatial, and visual acumen, and getting into the flow state feels great! Absolutely wonderful game!!
