This is an incredible Game. The Graphics are great, the combat is extremely engaging, the story is engaging and the gameplay itself is some of the best VR has to offer. It is a wonder and has aged like fine wine
This is the best VR game there is to play. This is the best game I have ever spent money on and will be for a very long time maybe even forever. If you are looking for reviews to see if you should buy this game or not, please do.

I'm not a fan of negatively reviewing a game that is, to some extent, good, but Boneworks was an experience I almost wish I didn't bother with. I could rant about what factors lead me to poorly rate the game, but first let's discuss what the game does well in and rightfully deserves praise. Boneworks, originally released in 2019, is a VR game that puts a lot of emphasis on the virtual reality element; it promotes the freedom within the game, in that you're able to mess around with the physics accordingly and feel fully immersed. This can range from climbing, moving objects around to solve puzzles, shooting, reloading weapons, etc etc. And for what it's worth, the physics in the game is *mostly* good, albeit climbing can prove a headache in of itself. The gun play is smooth, horizontal movement is decent enough, and the game allowing you to find multiple solutions to the same problem is always a welcomed feature in any game. With all this in mind, it sounds like I should be rating it higher, no? Well, with a VR game it's important to remember that, even though it's in virtual reality, it is still a game nonetheless. Sure, it's not fair to compare any VR game to say, I don't know, Elden Ring? Clair Obscur? VR games almost necessitate a separate categorical approach in how you review them, as the standard is much different. With that in mind, Boneworks still falls flat in the face of several other VR titles that actually do have good physics, and above all else, a good game to boot. When I think of good VR games, I will of course think of Half Life: Alyx. But other contenders such as Vader Immortal, Deadpool, Beat Saber and even I Expect You to Die are all fine titles I would happily recommend to anyone, new or experienced to VR. Boneworks is just missing a lot, as it seems to put a lot of its focus on the physics within the game. The story is barebones (pun intended?), the combat feels random at best, and the map/areas you move around in feel like a lot of fluff, with hardly any reason to actively explore any of it. You can spend a LOT of time exploring the map... to find absolutely nothing of interest. No special items, no extra or hidden lore, just more map. Not for nothing, it does improve a bit towards the end of the game, but that still requires you to get all the way to the end to feel like your time is being spent well and getting rewarded for it. Boneworks, for the year it was released, would have been a phenomenal experience. Unfortunately, this would only be because there wasn't much to compare it to. Now with several years of development for other games, it's clear that Boneworks, much like how it even says itself in the story, is basically an early testing ground for the capabilities of VR. Of course, it's not to say that it's a /bad/ game completely... but I would recommend just playing other VR titles that roughly accomplish the same stuff that this game does, and likely more polished. Seriously though, the climbing is so bad. The constant rubber banding, hands phasing and being stuck, the inability to scale simple ledges because of these inconveniences... I swear half my time in this game was spent just struggling to climb :(
Хорошая игра, жаль, сюжета толком нет.

I hate you with my life, Robo-headcrabs. Game is great, story is really good and the gun play is even better 10/10
игра легенда, но сама игра неинтересная в 2026 году - говно, берите бонлаб
