It's fun to play and tough to learn. And not without it's flaws. The system of having a crew inside a bomber flying missions works really good. You have people that can do certain jobs and certain stations inside the bomber. It feels very organic. But your crew is always one or two (wo)men short. This means the secondary skills of your crew members are actually useful and you have do to some rotation inside the bomber, depending on the current circumstances. The game gives you plenty of chances to learn and you can always select easier missions to earn money and increase your skill as the commander of your crew. Over time you unlock upgrades to your systems and your crew gains new abilities over time. Thus it is really important that you bring back your bomber or atleast save your crew via survivability upgrades like life vests. Even if your bomber is shot to bits you can atleast make your crew bail out with parachutes to save them. If you do however lose a bomber or crew members it is not completely over. You get a new bomber that is upgraded (seemingly) according to the progress in the campaign you have made so far. And new crew members that already have a bunch of experience. This is a difficult thing to balance though. Give the player a new bomber and crew members that are as good as the old, and losing a bomber with crew has no penalty. If the bomber and new crew is too weak, the player has a lot of catching up to do. And Runner Duck has done a good job in giving you a decent crew to start over with, but it's not without its flaws. A new Bomber and new crew will always have a certain standard, no matter how many times in a row your bomber crashes. This means once you get a new bomber after a fail, there is no penalty to failing again. Meaning you can get enticed to take whatever mission you want with the backup crew and bomber you got, because there is no penalty to losing them. In comparison having to work your way back to a good bomber actually feels rather frustrating. Because while upgrading goes rather smoothly if you never lose a bomber, it becomes slow and expensive if you gotta do it from the fail-safe bomber. Especially the onboard systems, like electronics and hydraulics, seem to always start at the lowest level, meaning they are prone to spontaneous failure during a mission. And not only are they important to increase the effectiveness of your bomber, they are crucial to it functioning at all. And while new crew can be recruited at a relatively high level in their primary job. They always start their secondary at lvl 1. Meaning it is rather painful to lose someone like a bomber, who may be able to start with his bombing skill maxxed out, but then has to start his gunner career back at lvl 1. Which means a new crew will only ever have 2 good gunners, while an experienced crew might have 4. And grinding experience on crew members takes even longer than money to buy bomber equipment...I am writing this review after ragequitting the game after my bomber crashed for the 2nd time in a row. My original bomber & crew were doing great, but got shot down when one of the DLC missions was too tough. And the grinding I'd have to do to get back to their level is just too much. I lost about 25 missions in experience in their secondary skills and equipment in the ranges of 30-50 thousand dollars, which is also around 10-15 missions of money... Since this is my second playthrough, I think I am gonna call it quits here. I still remember something similar in the first playthrough were I died several times on the last mission and just tried again and again with the backup bomber & crew until I made it. Didn't feel rewarding at all.

It's definitely a game for the engineers and tinkerers, ensuring your bomber is as effective as it can be in achieving its mission, protecting your crew and coming back in one piece. Game has a pretty fun coordination set. hen you first start out it can be a bit tricky to keep your crew in the right spots, and having enough ammo to keep up with the onslaught of planes. It can get a bit repetitive after a while but the learning curve keeps things interesting enough to finish the campaign. For the expansion, things get turned up a few notches, having extra crew members but without the need for manual reloading. Really loved the experience though there was another learning curve keeping up with everything going on, though probably just from the extra crew. Replayed both campaigns so it definitely feels like it got easier but it was still difficult enough to surprise me occasionally. Good luck if you try to keep the same crew or plane alive!

本质上说不是个飞行游戏,其实更偏向策略类,但是没有传统RTS那么大的操作量。不过对手残党来说还是蛮难的,敌机多起来手忙脚乱,好在可以卡BUG无限读档尝试,有乘员牺牲或者飞机坠毁可以选择不从零开始,[b][spoiler]无法被击落的王牌轰炸机机组了属于是[/spoiler][/b]。玩这个游戏可以了解很多二战轰炸机知识,适合对二战战机(当然这个游戏也只能体验到盟军的轰炸机)感兴趣的玩家。也能了解一些二战史故事,比如说,英国人为了克制防雷网,专门研发了一种弹跳炸弹,通过打水漂的方式炸德国水坝,在游戏中有一个任务可以体验到。还可以对二战轰炸机机组成员的感受有身临其境的切身体会。[b]为什么英国人不给兰开斯特装机腹炮塔???[/b]还有德国佬的这个[b][i]斜乐曲[/i][/b]真是私募东西,特别烦人,恶心得要死。以及这个游戏也有该死的防空树,低飞机动的时候飞行员铸币操作会撞树功亏一篑。
I kept trying to give this game a chance, but I just can't stand how ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ the later main missions. Even with farmed equipment and maxed out plane, the AI is given magic bullets any time you are about to complete a mission.
um just saying its on sale for 2 dollars just buy it its the best 2 dollars you will ever spend
