Bolt Riley, A Reggae Adventure

First, to clear the air... I got a free key to test the game. I'm must say this game was a big suprise for "old school" point n'Click quest. The graphics are very well painted and the sound is great for all Reggae lovers. The vibe of the game is really light and funny. As I said it's a 2D point n'click, very well crafted and authentic. The story line is good and riddles are between easy to moderate, but the flow is good and makes you want to keep on playing.

First I need to say that it is a nice game and I'd love to reccommend it because of that but - as already stated by lots of players - chapter one is much too short (even for an episode). Sorry to say that it really has more of a demo because of this. If you can grab it on sale with its shortness in mind or in case it will be added to the second chapter I might change my review. Sadly I don't believe in the late appearence of the second chapter anymore because there's silence from the developers side. Really sad, man! Edit: Btw. the achivements that are announced on the shopsite are not included/activated - well, at least not for me!

I was one of the kickstarter backers, and finally decided that since there is no hope of the complete game I would go ahead and play "Chapter 1." I shouldn't have bothered. It is woefully incomplete -- and will never be completed. To be specific, Chapter 1 doesn't tell a complete story of something that is part of a larger arc; rather Chapter 1 is intended to be a segue into a larger game. Or perhaps more accurately a concept demo with plot hooks intended to whet people's appetite. No reason to play it, no reason to buy it.

Great game - cool theme , great artwork, fun to play, very intuitive interface. Only con is my kid finished it very fast and wanted more :) Hope to see a chapter 2.

Nice game... hoping that chapter 2 will be released soon because chapter one was quite short! ;)

I desperately want to recommend it, but it's just too rough right now, and does all the annoying things adventure games of old do. Characters and design are great, but the game itself is just not ready for the spotlight, mon.

The game is promising, the music mechanic (and the music itself)and the setting are specially interesting, unique and actually cool, but as it stands i cannot recommend it, i see the potential but it needs A LOT of polishing all over the place, voice acting can be great (narrator and bolt) or really bad (one of the rude boys sound like it was recorded on a phone), art is nice but damn it the game has a problems when trying to zoom into sprites, it pixelates all around. and this episode is around half an hour of content, still i want this game to do great but i cannot recommend it right now

In full disclosure, i recieved the game key from the maker of the game. So is bolt riley really worth it, lets start with the graphics, they are nice but not great, as the syncing of the lips and voice are not alined, the music is good but could do with some more viaraity. The gameplay is simple, not all that hard to figure out, it took me about 30 mins to do this chapter. so is the game any good, i like the idea behind the game, the graphics and music are good so its a nice little play, is it worth the price, i would say not at a 30min - 1hr gameplay for £4 its more like a £1 game, overall i did enjoy my short time with it but because of the above i can only give this game a 5/10 if chapter 2 is every released i think it has to have both chapters together for the price it is at now

The developer ghosted everyone and never finished the series. The save/load feature doesn't work. The game couldn't even quit cleanly after I played all the way through. Also, there are many lines of dialogue text without voice-overs.
