Fetch quests, but make them serene
Thank you Phantom Island for this curator key. This still remains an impartial and neutral review. I didn’t expect to meet my 2026 spirit animal this early, yet here she is. Letty, an adorable little letter with legs, quietly handling mail in the sleepy town of Tsukinoma. She works nights, loves tea and detective games, prefers solitude, and somehow still wants to help everyone. Honestly, flawless vibes. The whole experience leans hard into calm and softness, asking you to slow down and exist alongside her rather than rush to the next puzzle. The game unfolds across roughly 52 nights of deliveries, mixing light enigmas with gentle wandering. Everything is hand-drawn, fluid, and full of charm, from the cute NPCs to tiny animated details like Letty’s little flap that moves like a rebellious strand of hair. The soundtrack hums along in a meditative way, reinforcing the idea that this is more of an ambiance piece than a challenge-driven puzzle game. And to its credit, it never pretends to be anything else. The riddles themselves are accessible and rarely demanding. Only the first one really expects a bit of outside knowledge, and even then you’re safely tucked into a tutorial zone. That said, patience is mandatory. Letty is deceptively slow to control, to the point where waiting for her to cross the screen often takes longer than solving the actual enigmas. Some nights also drift into filler territory, asking you to retrace steps, leave areas you were just in, or retrieve misplaced packages, which feels more like gentle busywork than meaningful progression. There are a few technical and structural hiccups too. You can clip through certain objects like fences or a bridge and get stuck, though reopening the mini-menu usually frees you. Chapter titles get oddly shuffled toward the end, breaking the sense of flow, and one line of dialogue repeats far too often. The most frustrating issue is a bug tied to the second riddle, which refused to register correct answers until a full reboot, not ideal when early puzzles set the tone. Despite all that, it remains a soothing, tender experience for the right audience. The developer seems open to feedback, the content length fits the price, and the game delivers exactly what it promises: a calm, relaxing nighttime stroll wrapped in hand-drawn sweetness. Just don’t come looking for sharp puzzles or a strong narrative arc. This one is about mood, patience, and letting the quiet sink in.
🎮 Pencil Stories 🎮
A very endearing and cute game! The gameplay is slow-paced and relaxing, and the atmosphere is great througout. A great game to calm down and breathe and still feel like youre accomplishing something by helping Letty through her tasks <3
lovely sounds with a nice atmo. I like the reveal mechanic. Would love to see more interactables, like the leaves to push around. Maybe a whole pile of leaves.
Wonderfully relaxed game to play 1. during heavy rain or snow fall and 2. together with children. Such a mindful journey of discovery, sweetness and small, but big gestures, that feels uplifting and warm.
Very cute and cozy game, great to calm down in the evening c: Also cute storytelling with detective elements, recommend playing it with others watching and talking about the puzzles, some of them took me some time to figure out :)
Thank you for this little warm cozy gem! Love the calm atmosphere, style and music/sound. Perfect to enjoy for a while on a dark winter sunday. :-) Very lovely story so far. If you want to calm down and just enjoy, this is for you.
