5 blocks against random dudes in a row? Straight knockdown. Crucial Blitz on the Ball Carrier? Double Pushes. Thanks for nothing, Nuffle

I absolutely adore this game, however it is not without its flaws. First of all, I can't really recommend this unless you grew up playing Blood Bowl the board game in the 90s, or if you have watched a lot of cKnoor's Let's Plays of Blood Bowl on youtube (ideally like me, both). Else you have a lot of learning to do. cKnoor very nicely has a lot of guides on Steam for starting teams. Also, sometimes the game glitches after you've beaten the AI in a league, which means the result doesn't count and you have to play against them AGAIN. As for multiplayer, I've heard various things about the community. If it's anything like the original game, they will quit as soon as you start winning. It can be infuriating sometimes when you seemingly roll duff blocking dice all game, when your opponent seems to be getting lucky with weak players obliterating your strongest ones. If you get past all that, you have a solid turn-based American football game with a fantastic variety of teams and it's hella addictive when your team starts winning.

To write a review of Blood Bowl 2 is for me an impossible task. How does one truly encapsulate something that means so much to them in something as simple as a review? Blood Bowl 2 entered my life at a very trying point. In my senior year of college, I was roped into a league with some of my friends. At first, there were 10 of us. Most of us went in with little knowledge of how the game worked. I know for myself, I hadn't even finished the campaign. I still remember on my first block I clicked on a skull, thinking it would take down the enemy player, only to watch in horror as my own crumpled over in a heap. Every game was an event. Whether crowding a Discord call with thunderous comments of "Nah, I'd win" or literally taking over a corner of the dining hall so two players could sit across from each other, we built this silly old game into the highlight of our weeks. It couldn't have come into my life at a better time. I was buckling under the weight of my course load. Wearing myself to the bone in an attempt to keep up with the sheer mountain of assignments I was facing, and on top of all of that, I was dealing with some serious existential changes in my life. Blood Bowl 2 gave me an outlet to forget all that. Its fun design, infinite skill ceiling, and healthy dose of gambling on odds of success made me instantly fall in love with it. The ability to name each facet of your team (Players, team, motto, stadium) gave us unlimited potential for creativity. Creating a silly team theme each season is genuinely one of my favorite activities. Seeing the silly ones my friends do is even more exciting! Each season, our little community grew. We have gone from a humble 10 to a whopping 24! We have fun little lore documents, silly hype videos for matches and new players, and now weekly creative challenges (One of which made me make a silly little rap battle). Moreover, each season for me is deeply different. Playing different teams and learning how to adapt play styles is infinitely engaging. One orc coach might play slow and tactful, while another might just fall into a bashing sandpit. If you have a few bucks to spare and a group of friends, grab this game. It has kept me close to my friends even after we graduated and went all over the place. Make a league, put some effort into it, and don't look back because you will have an endless supply of fun, silly, chaotic moments to keep you coming back for more. To everyone in The Savage Scrimmage Series, I love you <3.
Bloodbowl somehow got me to learn what a wide receiver was. I didn't know ANYTHING about football before this, take a look at my profile and you'll see I'm real big on rpgs- and yet somehow Bloodbowl shot up to become my most played game in the span of about a year and a half. At its core Bloodbowl's all about risk management- very appealing to an rpg fan like myself. If you've got a group of buds and are willing to shill out a few bucks, pick up a copy for em. One day you might just find you have a league on the front page. Shoutout to the Savage Scrimmage Series, shoutout to my goat Rizzgubst who's been on this game since he was like 13 or some ♥♥♥♥, he's got the comments on stadium upgrades to prove it, ♥♥♥♥♥♥ love that guy, love the league we put together, somehow I've found my Bloodbowl matches to be the absolute highlight of my weeks. Don't forget to put on a good show for the crowd! The more people you have watching the better a time it is, just don't let the crowd tempt you into making plays that are too risky.
Bloodbowl 2 is a game amongst games. It is a land of freedom and impermanence. The tides of Bloodbowl 2 ebb and flow more than the seas of distant worlds. The reign of a tyrant can be brought down not by skill or wit, but simply by the whims of nuffle himself or the fickle humors of the dice gods. A skilled player can always be ousted by a brand new player with a beleif in himself and the freeness of the win. Bloodbowl 2 is a game of belief. Believeing in yourself and your team is all that it takes to be successful. Because of this, Bloodbowl 2 is truly one of the greatest games to ever be conceived in the womb of Games Workshop. Without Bloodbowl 2 I never would have found my first, second, or third wives. Bloodbowl 2 has made me laugh, made me cry, and even made me spasm with pleasure. I truly cannot put into words how beautiful of a game Bloowbowl 2 is and I hope that whomever reads my review takes the plunge like I did into this masterpiece of a game. Also, do not buy Bloodbowl 3, it's a terrible horrible menagerie of stripped parts with graphics any pre-pubescent child could cobble together. Once I was in a polycule and the other 2 members tried Bloodbowl 3....safe to say I never saw them again.
Super jeu de tactique
