What a journey through an epic metroidvania! The atmosphere in the game is so gorgeous and inspiring, the killing is awesome and the aesthetics is just otherworldly. It's a well-thought out game except for some minor (and not that minor too) things. Loved every second of most bossfights, Crisanta was just top-notch. The music, oof, the boss music there and at Isidora! Shrine teleports are genius, so good. However, there's something wrong with the game too. The controls are wacky - especially the one with the "hold to grab higher ledge" and it's really not clear when your jump will connect with the platform and when not. The ladders, especially in Miriam areas are simply disastrous - the dude refuses to land there whatever the controls. So it's a bit of a shame really. One-shot on falling is also very bad. Like, sometimes it's the matter of 0.33 pixel and splash - dead, start anew. The game just doesn't forgive those pixel-miss types of errors. Some mobs look quite promising, while some, like Wax Baronesses, fall under the good old mistake of "limit the player in ability to hit things", so you have to patiently wait every time when the opportunity to strike presents itself... in a metroidvania. Unskippable enemies (tall or fat ones) are boring as you can't speed your way around them. The quests are ludicrous as some items don't appear and the things to do for the quests don't make much sense (looking at you, Gemino). All other quests were trusty old quests with no trouble really. Most of them were enjoyable and went well with the gameflow. Now about the most disgusting crap I've seen here. The one who is responsible for Mourning and Havoc entire zone can delete himself. It's utter and complete bs compared to the rest of the game. It's frustrating because of this zone where the enemies are just bullet sponges and everything ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ kills you in two hits (no, I did not arrive there at the beginning of the game). The boss is freaking awful with its "are you lucky or not" wind-dependent one-shot attack. Who thought this was a good idea and then APPROVED it? Final fight (Ending C) is well... a disaster? It's not a platformer bossfight, it's not a parry bossfight, it's just a bad mix of both. It's the final bossfight so you'd expect it to be kind of 7/10 at the very least. But instead, you get this "guess what, I take away almost all your game achievements and advances" type of moment. Is this really how it was all supposed to be? Overall - a good game which has its frustrating moments but as long as you promise to yourself to have fun and not sweat about everything, you will have a great and enjoyable time.
Really fun just you'd probably need guides or remember each interaction of each npc you talk to
TOP
Buen juego, un aire a dark souls y hollow knight pero diria que los bosses son algo mas sencillos cosa que agradezco. La ambientacion y trasfondo son excelentes, es como un cristianismo llevado al extremo.
Can be pretty rage inducing sometimes (Mainly the platforming sequences) but very cool vibes and art style. Pretty simple combat but challenging enough to make it interesting.
Alch esta bueno, muy entretenido y entre mas progresas mas divertido se pone.
Nice art. Nice music. Nice stage design. If you like Ori, Hollow Knight or Mega Man X4, this game is for you. Only thing to complain about is the control of this game is not very smooth. Especially during ladder climbing + jump in a hidden region full of danger spikes.
