I thought this game was just about making cool swords, but boy, was I wrong. The storytelling is impeccable. I've rarely experienced such a flurry of different emotions while playing a game. It also isn't afraid to explore darker, grittier territory in a way that makes your heart clench, I even genuinely teared up at some points. Honestly, I find its story more compelling than that of most fantasy novels and games, which is especially surprising considering that it's centered around blacksmithing. There are competing factions, characters with their own motivations and agendas, and incredibly innovative lore surrounding both the immediate region and distant lands beyond it. The world feels expansive and alive, with so much history and detail woven into everything. I hope when the game is complete the developers will release another game or even a book centered around this universe, because I'm just so enthralled. Outside of having some of the best lore I've ever seen, one of my favorite aspects is the interactions you have with the people who commission swords from you. Many of them have their own small storylines and quests, and the weapons you forge can feel connected to their personal circumstances. As time passes, you can even see what became of some of these characters afterward, which makes the world feel genuinely alive and gives your interactions a sense of continuity. I can't help but be invested, or even put more effort into some of the blades I smith depending on the interactions. Now onto the sword smithing itself which is the central aspect of the game. It has a bit of a learning curve, but that's part of what makes it so rewarding. As you progress, you become genuinely invested in unlocking new accessories and material types for forging. There's also a surprising amount of freedom and creative liberty involved, and seeing your skills and possibilities expand over time is incredibly satisfying. I've also heard that players can 3D print the swords they create in the game, which is an absolutely awesome bonus from the developers. You can really tell they put their heart and soul into this game, and it really shows. While I don't think this is a game for everyone, it's definitely a refreshing take, and I can't help but highly recommend it enough. I'm looking forward to every update, and the eventual full release of this game.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,404 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Best Bladesmithing game.
Exactly what I was hoping it would be
Hammering doesn't seem to work, adjusting area of effect for different characteristics doesn't seem to do anything
Kupiłem dla wykuwania mieczy, zostałem dla fabuły ( a wykuwanie mieczy też jest fajne)
When I got this game on a total whim, I didn't expect there to be such a deep and engaging story. I figured it would be something of a casual sandbox type of game where you just make swords with a bit of sprinkled in flavour text here and there. How wrong I was! This game is as much an RPG as it is a build your own swords type of game, and it melds together so surprisingly well. The sword crafting itself is remarkably in depth. You can make whatever your heart desires whether it be faithful recreations of fantasy swords from your favourite movies and games, to historically accurate swords from a thousand years ago, and anything in between. I figured this might be a game I would play for a half hour before bed just to wind down for the night and make some neat swords. Yet I find myself sinking hours into it with each sitting! Get this game and get it now!
I'm somewhat conflicted about this title. Granted, I've played relatively little thus far, and given what the screenshots suggest there is plenty for me to discover. But... perhaps I'm going about this the wrong way... WHY am I conflicted, exactly? Because the core part of the game, the actual smithing, is... kind of simplistic and tame. Pick a parameter, then whack the hammer until a desired effect is achieved. In case of a mistake, you can roll back without much penalty. That's... not really BAD, per se, but the mechanics of sword-making seem awfully shallow, despite the intricate patterns that are seemingly possible. The other reason is that these mechanics are very "fiddly". Try to add detail to your sword and you'll be fighting the UI a lot more than the actual process. The game doesn't offer much in the way of tutorials for these more complex designs, so my guess is one just has to wing it and figure out whatever strategy works for them. Again, not a bad approach, but once more somewhat simplistic. And to put a cherry on top you can make the most ludicrous sword design imaginable, but as long as the stats desired by the customer are met it'll be a success. So... is it a bad game? Well, that's the thing - there's some very engaging writing in here! I came for the smithin', but I'm actually staying for the storytelling. Which is somewhat weird because it's not "the" selling point. But the writing is good enough that I couldn't ignore it. It is my hope that the developers make the sword-making process a bit more "involved" than the current "swoosh slider around" simulator. For example lengthening the sword shouldn't just be "hammer anywhere" - it should require striking the metal to sort of make it into the desired sword shape! Use sandpaper or carving tools to create the handles. If it needs to be silver, then cast the wooden handle-shape into a sand mould. Let us SEE the smithing process in action fully. The current process is fantastic for a creative mode at least. That said, because of the aforementioned excellent storytelling it's still a reasonable purchase given the price. It's just... be warned of what you're getting into - if you don't care for a good story and want an actually realistic smithing simulator then this isn't it. EDIT: A small note on the story... nothing is on-the-nose, but characters that show up in the story seem to fall under the typical "men are evil or weak" while women are "strong and capable". Again, nothing off-putting, but in a grim "end-of-the-world" setting there's a wee bit too much of this typical tope.
as a sword nerd, this game took to me so quickly, so damn much creative freedom. The story is pretty interesting as well, and i love learning about the world and its character to the dev, can you please add a setting that allows us to change the adjustment speed in the future? Or make it changes by specific marks? sometimes when i wanna join two pieces (or more) of handles, or any pieces, there'd be a little lip where they meets, and i would have to slowly tap the keys to make them meet just right. Would be nice if that can be done easier
Urrrrrr. Wasn't looking for a game like this but the smithing really well implemented with the adventure/RPG aspect. The characters are engaging, story is good, great worldbuilding and the gameplay is genuinely really interesting - there are a lot of variations to the weapons you make. Great game.
Interesting game, really interesting toy to play with. The bit that jumps out as a missed opportunity, at least so far, is setting up to provide things like looped or fly-by animations in photomode (maybe just short gif or webm files) and the option of a transparent or add-your-own background in photos/videos. Because for D&D and similar games, this could be a really fun and useful tool. If someone's willing to invest hours in planning and running a campaign, then they'll spend half an hour with your tool running up some really cool looking weapon and turning it into a shiny short video or gleaming 'dazzle' picture to wave in front of their players. And that ignores the players themselves, of course - plenty of games let players make weapons and similar, and a player who writes a five page backstory for David the Barbarian is definitely going to care what his broadsword looks like.
