It pains me, but I do not recommend it. Not at this time. The game was a surprise hit for me. Had a lot of fun building, exploring, fighting, and running my little (actually quite large cause I like building) shops. You could use whatever you found as a weapon whether it made sense or not. A sword, a gun, a chair, building materials, a entire bed, anything could be a weapon and they all felt reasonably balanced. Sure you could get really good weapons really early, but this wasn't a game with a deep story and complex skill trees. It was a goofy sandbox game were you explore and gather loot then go back to your shop to sell it to people at a 300% markup. I quite liked the building system. A few other games have similar building mechanics like Valheim or Lightyear Frontier. It's a system I enjoy very much. Thankfully, as far as I know, this system remains the same. But, unfortunately, nearly everything else enjoyable about the game has changed with the Immersive update. Now it's not all bad, but it's an entirely different game. It's a game that doesn't appeal to me anymore. You can't just pick up and use anything as a weapon anymore, now everything has stat requirements and they're pretty restrictive. Shop management is a bit more of a chore and you have to be careful not to knock over your customers or else you'll get arrested. Movement is slower and feels clunkier and makes exploring less enjoyable. The camera is closer and lower and feels quite claustrophobic now where it didn't have that problem before. Almost everything feels worse than what it was. I do respect that the developers have listened to a lot of feedback and dialed many changes back, or found some middle ground from pre-immersive and post-immersive. But I simply don't like the game this has become with the Immersive update. I want the old game back. That's the game I loved. This ain't it.
I used to really enjoy playing this, but the new update renders it basically unplayable. The new graphics somehow look way worse and it lost all of its charm. Its very buggy and just not fun anymore :(
Broken and unplayable, only server host could interact with anything outside of the shop area. don't know if its a permissions issue or what but it shouldn't be rocket science to play the game. used to be fun, loved it before, but this update is way too broken.
this game doesn't deserve all the negative reviews. it has a long way to go towards completion but it has an active dev that is heavily invested in the game's quality
Since the immersion update this game literally feels worse than a year ago. Character's looks wider for some random reason. walking animations looks dry and stiff, previous one's looked more realistic. Items equiped in a hotbat are visible on a player so now you have a full on garbage displayed on your back when you carry 2 riffles, melee and a pickaxe. New NPC audio sounds like it was made by AI from 2024. Arranging items in your inventory is harder because of all the glow effects. Before the update, game was fine as it was. It biggest problem was with lags and stutters when hosting a game for other players and this update made it worse for all the new animations and effects it needs to render and consume more resources to run.
I'm leaving a review as someone who never played the 'old' Saleblazer - this game is FUN. And it's relatively stress free. You can adjust everything to make it as hard or as easy as you want. From what I've experienced so far, there is no debt to pay, no time restraints, and my favorite part; you don't need to sleep! Some nights I'll turn off raiding at my store just to upgrade and update and turn it back on for the other nights, and spend my days gathering or running my shop. And I like the way it looks. It runs smooth for me. It's a very solid game. Approved by this easily overwhelmed ADHD girlie.
WOW this game has turn to absolute trash in recent updates.. the cops will arrest you for breathing and everyone can attack and kill you but if you defend yourself you will have a massive fine.. this games pointless and not worth a cent till devs figure out how to run there own game properly... Oh and taking away police having to actually answer to the stagger effect is just Complete Horse S***! you can be beating them sensless in a corner and they just shoot while they are laying on the ground.. the game went from being equal and having to work hard to get where you have to go and hard fights and now its just cheats to beat the player to force longer playtimes.. thats pretty horrible development in my eyes :/ untill devs straight up remove 90% of there cheat debuffs the games so not worth it.. all youtube videos you see are from past Good Builds.. now a days Avoid it like a plague..
This game has a lot of potential. Unfortunately it fails at all it's core functions Shopkeeping: Shopkeeping is fun but the game is more than just shop keeping. Unfortunately, it is your primary source of income and by extension, your primary source or research and development. Research and development being your method of unlocking better gear, it is important to have a steady stream of income to keep up with the game. However, because the game is about quests and exploration as much as it is about shop keeping, you have to chose between earning an income or going out to play the rest of the game. There is an employee table but it is placed deep into what feels like mid to late game content level of the research table. The Employees are also their own can of worms as Cashiers is a midtier research of the Employee table so even after unlocking employees, you still have to man the store until you unlock them. Even then, Their AI is broken, regularly leaving their post to stand outside and taking 30s to a minute to return to the register after a customer is ready to ring up. Which often times results in the customer walking out and the cashier returning outside. This system requiring a player to babysit the store for so long makes a tiny more sense balancing wise if you account for multiplayer but you still force a player to chose between the store or the rest of the game for a massive chunk of time. Combat: Your best bet at stocking your store, at least early on, is by hunting ronin. The ronin drop gear which sells for a lot more than your typical collected or crafted items. However, the balancing for damage is all over the place. Enemies have a lot of hp and I suspect scale to your level. This means fighting one enemy takes a lot of hits. I got myself a bamboo crossbow with 60 damage and as I leveled up, it's damage increased with me up to 195. It can pretty much one shot anything. However, when I finally got the means to craft the higher tier firearms, they didn't come close in damage. 18-24 damage for a weapon that should be stronger than my crossbow. The reload speed isn't an equaliser because my reload is super fast as it is and the crossbow can one shot anything while a single clip of any firearm doesn't come close to killing enemies. I can only guess the weapon scales up as you use it but that discourages players from ever using anything aside from their starter weapon. Crafting: Crafting in general feels like an after thought. As mentioned before, crafting recipes are unlocked by research. AS you unlock recipes, you gain more things to sell. but some recipes feel unfinished or unnessarily convoluted. Apple juice requires specifically bamboo cups even though there are other cups you unlock later that by all accounts should work as well. Coffee requires a bottle of water despite also requiring a bamboo cup. I don't get why the bottle is even a thing when you can make cups of water or why we have to buy the bottles instead of unlocking bottles from the plastic cup research. Again, the recipes require specifically bamboo cups. there is an over abundance of bones from hunting animals but no use for them and you can't trash them. The trashcan is strangely picky of what you can scrap and always the useless or over abundant items are unable to be scrapped. Copper, which by most game standards is a early to mid tier material, is found in radiation zones. You normally would have radiation a late game obstacle but this game has other ideas. The only way to get into the zones safely is to do a specific quest that refuses to trigger for me. So, I just upped my HP and tanked the radiation.
This game is awful, this game as the literal name implies is supposed to be about making money, selling items, owning a shop, decorating it. And yet when I first bought it I couldn't play it for even a day without giving up because it crashed all the time, and then now I came back for another shot, the games possible redemption arch. But the review shows no it did not redeem itself at all. I like what they added and did yes, as I'm not against it and generally see the appeal for long term game play with a leveling system. But as I made clear in the first bit of my review it was supposed to be a shop owning focused game, and yet there is nothing new shop wise to speak of besides some items, the employees are horrible, the decoration is almost non existent, and don't even bother having a employee restock items for you cause they shove 1 singular item on a shelf and call that good enough, they do not focus on the actual main reason I and probably many other people bought the game for. It was the only reason I wanted and bought this game to begin with. So I feel like I was cheated out of my money and time I was promised a shopkeeping game and I get a low quality adventure game instead. If you are like me and prefer shop keeping games and that is the reason this game looks appealing to you, don't bother buying this game. They wont fix the shopping and expand on that main feature at all, it is always buggy, lagging, or having issues and things that annoy you that you can't fix which will drive you crazy the entire time. I truly tried to love this game, and came back even after it wouldn't stop crashing. and it still failed it's main purpose and gameplay entirely even after this long.
Dev has an amusing game set up. Haven't seen the end game stuff or much of the story, but I love what they have going on, and have been having a lot of fun with it. They recently completely reworked a lot of stuff, and some of it was not well met. And do you know what they did? They either walked a lot of it back, re-tuned things, or allowed access to the old style all at player request. I've never seen another developer do that, and I think that was amazing for them to try an idea, see it wasn't well received, and take the extra time to make things enjoyable for everyone.
