Absolute peak game.. its what got me into half life in 2026 and now I understand why people praise the original and Half life 2 so much.. an amazing re-creation of the original game and also peak designs.. Xen was drawn out and a very long section but was easily one of the most fun i've had playing a game ever.. OST is a banger and the entire game was just so well done it's unbelievable that the source material used for it was rom 1998.. HIGHLY recommended if you wanna get into Half life as a new gen as the transition from Half life: Black Mesa and Half life 2 graphically wise is very tiny

... why is zen 3 times longer, they took what was already the longest part of the game, and made it take up of twice of the game's runtime proportionally
Awesome game
A reasonably impressive fan project and quality remake of the antiquated classic that is [i]Half-Life[/i], [i]Black Mesa[/i] stumbles only when the Source engine does, which...was quite a lot, actually. Still, the janky movement, jumping and interaction will lead the player nicely into [i]Half-Life 2[/i], assuming that you're in it to follow the 'full' arc of the narrative available. As an entry point to the series, you could do much worse than this, but I freely admit that my thumbs up is a shaky one. Valve lured me onto Steam with the Orange Box like so many others, but my nostalgia for Gordon Freeman was not enough to draw me into this beyond the first few missions. If you love Half-Life, remakes, or games on the Source engine, you'll probably enjoy yourself.
