good walking sim, 30 minutes lenght, story is pretty sad. The narrator is okay, wouldnt call it terrible as many claim. The gameplay is not great, as I'd find the controls badly responsive. Worth to be played if you have it in your library, but keep in mind: have low expectations. 6/10
Bird Watcher
Short experience. Took me 17 mins. But there's replayability if you didn't get all the achievements on first try, I guess. Pros - good, touching story - good music Cons - none? Neutral - linear exporation - weird accent on narrator (which I actually found kind of charming). It's like a weird mix of...Polish and Nicaraguan? - extremely short. But is just $2, so...who cares. Overall, if you like narrative games, this is worth $2. It's a nice, somewhat eye-opening story.
A young girl lives a lonely existence with her aunt. She spends most of her time in her room in solitude. She often looks out of the window and watches her neighbour across the way spending his time on the roof of his highrise tending to pigeons. The girl notices it’s been several days since she last saw him and is concerned for his well-being. She decides to sneak out and see if he is ok. She navigates her way through apartment corridors, rooms and eventually rooftops to locate the “Bird Man.” Bird Watcher is a very short walking sim. The overall graphics are decent, and the gameplay enjoyable, but the voice-over work is abysmal. I could barely understand the plot through the broken English. Even the captions are poorly written. This game has something going for it that I think is worthwhile – if only the developers paid a little money for a proper translation! Do I recommend Bird Watcher? Sure…The walking around part is pretty good. Don’t pay any more than $1 for it. 2.5/5
Follow "First Person Exploration and Puzzle Games" for more games like this!
The story is not bad, but the dialogue really kills this game. Both the text and voice-overs were done by someone who can barely speak English, which is incredibly jarring and confusing. To add to that, the entire game lasts 10 minutes. I can't recommend this game.
A beautiful short story game. Found the game relaxing and engaging.
Very [strike]Short[/strike] game :)
it is a short and sweet 15-30 minutes walking sim with very mice music , some simple interaction and letters to be found and read and a pleasant sounding non native English voiceover that is easy to understand ( as well as read subtitles ) in spite of some funny sounding Russian to English translation choices. ( example . scary " hours " means scary wooden " clock " on the wall. I enjoyed the story and the stroll and would recommend it as short snack to play in one sitting when you are in a mood for a simple game especially one sale.
