BioShock is a shooter unlike any you've ever played, loaded with weapons and tactics never seen. You'll have a complete arsenal at your disposal from simple revolvers to grenade launchers and chemical throwers, but you'll also be forced to genetically modify your DNA to create an even more deadly weapon: you.

I've had this in my library for a while and finally decided to make a go at it. I went with the original rather than the remaster because the remaster crashed every time I tried to load a game. This one worked better for a while. I used the mouse fix script to make the game playable with a mouse and keyboard because apparently 2k didn't know people used those back in 2007. And I had been enjoying the game until today, when I ran into a brick wall. I'm about halfway through, at the point where I release the chemical to fix the trees, and now the game crashes every time I try to save, or load, or click on anything in the world. It's impossible to progress any further, So however good the game may be when it works, I can't experience it. My advice is to skip this one.
Masterpiece.
One of my favourite games of all time, 10/10.
Bioshock (not the remastered) holds up incredibly well with an amazing story, visuals, sound effects, and gunplay. What more to say than to definitely try the game out and have one hell of an experience. Also i love big daddies, they are very hot.
uno de los juegos que mas me encantaron en todo mi gaming la verdad 10/10
When it first came out back in 2007, Bioshock was widely hailed as a masterpiece. Why? Because it's the embodiment of games as an art form and an incredibly deep and enjoyable game in its own right. Set in the 1960s, you play as Jack, the lone survivor of a plane crash in the middle of the Atlantic. He finds himself marooned at a mysterious lighthouse and a curious vessel takes him down to Rapture, an underwater city that has descended into chaos. Why is Rapture breaking apart at the seams and how will Jack escape? That's up to the player to find out; from the moment you're introduced to the iconic setting, Bioshock immerses you in one of the most detailed, multi-layered and beautifully presented stories of all time. As dingy and dark as the bloodstained corridors are, you want to explore every single corner. Fantastic voice acting, a range of fascinating audio diaries, gorgeous art and clanking sound design combine to create a near-flawless canvass. Along the way, politics, philosophy, ethics and man's lust for power are conveyed so seamlessly. Without spoiling anything, the twists and turns are the cherry on top of an excellent narrative. When you get to the actual gameplay, Bioshock is a first-person-shooter with unique mechanics, mixing both crunchy gunplay and mind-boggling special abilities called plasmids. With all firearms and at least four plasmids carried simultaneously, you can play the way you want, becoming a wielder of the elements or a master of the mind, swapping out a range of helpful upgrades as you go. All of it takes place in a smaller sandbox where you can adjust your combat tactics on the fly. Bioshock's flaws are few and far between; the hacking mini-game can get tiresome after a while, the binary storyline choices you can make haven't aged so well and the game loses some steam in its final moments, but it remains a fantastic title to this day. The remastered version also comes with some extra modes and a set of director's commentary tracks. If you haven't played Bioshock, where have you been? This is one of the all-time greats that deserves a spot in everyone's collection. My extended retrospective on the franchise can be viewed here: https://youtu.be/jHe6ckTflSA?si=Gap55_9c_24IJpBr
