Big Brain Wolf

I like the art style and the idea but what a boring miserable excuse of a puzzle game. I had to force myself to finish this.

The game starts out with a mother being awful to her son, followed by a genie being awful to that same boy (or wolf, rather). While this is going on, you get some tidbits of the game's ridiculous 'story,' which made me want to have nothing to do with this game. Once the puzzles start, they're things you've almost certainly seen before if you play puzzle games from time to time; the brain training exercises also all felt familiar from "that one franchise of brain-training games." Ex. Ever moved three coins to make the arrow point in the opposite direction? Then you're ready to do that puzzle again in this game. Clicking on everything in a room to see what causes the story to progress has never felt like a great use a time, but it apparently is what makes this game tick. The main character, as other reviews mention, is a bit depressing to listen to. He clearly dislikes his life, despairs over his poor social skills, his unpopularity with females and his asthma, and seems to only be able to foster contentious relationships. And the game gives me the impression that it's as much his fault as anyone else's. Perhaps he should get a referral to visit an endocronologist to see if there's a hormonal reason that he's such a jerk...or perhaps we should just blame his mother for raising him that way. Either way, I fully expect this kid to die alone and unloved. When the genie talks to the main character, he's borderline abusive; when the genie becomes an interface element, he's all smiles. That, I suppose, is one of the game's mysteries. Or perhaps that's just the kind of home that fosters miserable kids like this game's main character. So, in conclusion, this game is mediocre at best, and I hope you don't pay for it.
