About
12,792 items. One unbelievable mess. You.
Clock in. Stock the shelves. Climb the ladder of an industry that maybe shouldn't exist.
Big Bad Pharma is a cosy first-person pharmacy-stocking sim with a wicked streak. On the surface it's everything you want from a tidy little restocking game: neat shelves, a quiet shop to run, and that deeply pleasing click of the last box sliding into place. Underneath, it's a cheeky satire of corporate healthcare, and the further up the ladder you climb, the more you might want to ask yourself whether it was worth it.

Every shift starts the same way: shelves stripped bare, product everywhere, and you.
Every single one of the 12,792 items on that floor has a home. A specific shelf, in a specific bay, in a specific aisle, and the shop isn't finished until every last one of them is in it. Pick things up, carry an armful, and slot them into place. Categories run from digestive relief to migraine remedies to a genuinely suspicious quantity of allergy medication, all of it wearing a label that's almost a brand you'd recognise. Legally speaking.
Forgotten where the antihistamines live? There's a catalogue book in your pocket. Whether you're a methodical shelf-perfectionist working one bay at a time or a chaotic box-flinger lobbing paracetamol across the room, the shop is yours to run.

Every shift starts the same way — empty shelves, a full stockroom, and you. Sort products into the right aisles, from digestive relief to migraine remedies to a suspicious number of allergy medications. Keep things tidy, keep things moving, and try not to lose an item along the way. Whether you're a methodical shelf-perfectionist or a chaotic box-flinger, the shop is yours to run.

Nobody climbs the corporate ladder on foot forever.
Behind the staff door there's a beige desktop PC running an operating system that time forgot. That's the Rx Upgrade Hub, and it's where your wages go. Carry more in one trip. Move faster between aisles. Jump higher, throw further, and unlock the four tools that turn a long shift into a short one:
Locate: light up every stray item of a category, wherever it's hiding
Auto Shelve: send what's in your hands straight to where it belongs
Magnet: pull nearby product to you without bending down once
Sweep: gather up a whole patch of floor in a single pass
Max everything out and you become a truly well-rounded (and slightly terrifying) employee of the month.

There's more to this pharmacy than restocking. Twenty-one achievements trace your journey from bleary-eyed newcomer to something a little more... corporate. There are things written on mirrors. There's a radio out back with four decades of music on it. There's a toilet, and yes, it flushes.
Clock out at the end of a shift and the numbers come up: items shelved, sections completed, time on the floor, and a running record of every shift you've ever worked. Then the shop refills, the day ticks over, and it all starts again, which is either deeply comforting or the entire joke, depending on how you're feeling.

Big Bad Pharma is warm, funny, satisfying to play, and just self-aware enough to make you smirk. It's a game about small satisfactions and big questions, made by one person with a sharp sense of humour and far too much time spent thinking about shelf geometry.
Plays on mouse and keyboard or controller, in five-minute bursts or three-hour ones.
Come for the shelves. Stay for the slow moral decline.
AI Content Disclaimer (NO AI): This game was created with love and passion for learning to create a game after games being the one consistent in my life. All 3D assets are my own (hence why I kept it very basic). All textures and decals in game are made by me (you may see where I've struggled in places). I have recently removed AI generated achievement images and replaced them with my own designs, the same applies to all Steam Graphics, Logos and background images. Officially NO AI.

I want to say I can recommend this game, but I honestly can't. The concept is fun and I am in total support of the creator removing AI (I wouldn't have bought the game if there was any AI involved), but there is one very big issue that makes it difficult for me to play this game for extended periods of time. All of the items look far too similar. Some of them are even the exact same color as well. The titles are helpful, of course, but it means that when sorting it's very difficult to tell at a glance what is meant to go where without reading each individual label, which can make the game headache inducing. This is worsened by the fact that there's no power-up to tell you where products need to be shelved, so there isn't anything you can do but go through each shelf to find the right one. I would recommend waiting until the dev makes the products a little more distinct before purchasing this game. It also takes a very long time to gain abilities. I'm six hours in and still haven't gotten many unlocks, and the unlocks you do get don't feel very powerful. But honestly that part could just be a me issue, and isn't my main problem with the game.

I've been following this game since it could be wish listed. The developer really stayed on top of bugs and qol adjustments. They made sure to take out the Ai and also did all the drawings by their own. The fact that all this was taken into consideration made the game stand out. The amount of items to put up and the chill atmosphere is a good way to distract from those hard work days or whatever you got going on. Give it a shot organizing game lovers.
So far so good! There are definitely bones for a really great game here, though there are a few places where it's lacking. I like the book of items, showing the medications per category, however I think it would be nice if it listed how many of each medication exists so you can better plan your shelving. It would make for easier alphabetization and also knowing when one product might take up multiple slots (the matcha republic containers take up at least 2, which I was not expecting and had to rearrange part of my vitamin shelf). Altering the POV camera would also help, as would a clearer highlight of what item you are about to pick up. I did encounter two issues that I believe are glitches: 1. The shuffle feature for the music doesn't work. Whatever music is playing will loop, not cycle randomly through the 4 available tracks (please add more to these as well!) 2. Sometimes setting down an item will immediately complete it, even if it's only one product and others of it exist. It will fill the shelf saying 1/1 but there are more to shelve and cannot be added. I imagine this will become more of a headache as I fill up more shelf space, so fixing this it definitely important. Overall, this has the addicting organizing pleasure that I've experienced in other games of this type, but it definitely requires a bit more polish. I'll probably hold off on playing again until some updates come out that fix some of the major issues. Not a bad game and has good potential, just needs some tweaking.
I was really looking forward to this game because of the promised 10 000+ items. There are a lot of sorting games coming out with just a few thousand items and that's not enough for me. Unfortunately, the 10 000+ items look all the same, just a few different colours. You have to sort by colour but some of them are very similar. So if the lack of variety bothers you in Supermarket Chaos, you're not gonna like this. Especially because when you're picking up something you have no idea what you're picking up because the game doesn't tell you until you have picked it up. I'm experiencing several bugs but I'm playing on release day. The ones that annoy me the worst are the game teleporting me all the time and having more products than shelves. The max you can carry is only 12 items, unfortunately. I enjoy 3 out of the 5 music tracks in the game. :) The description talks about climbing the corporate ladder but I'm not sure that's actually happening. I think there's no other gameplay besides sorting the products. If you're like me and like to play these kinds of games without using any other skills other than faster walking and max carry, it will keep you busy for a while. Would I recommend it? Only if you're a big fan of the genre and can afford 50 different sorting games being released at the same time. The only advantage this game has is 10 000+ objects but that won't matter much if you use the skills. As for me, I feel a little blah about this game because after Shelves and Sorcery(I adore it, recommend!) that released yesterday, the bar is now VERY high for me.
Abilities are not accessible.
Out of all the many 'tidy up sims' currently on the steam store, Big Bad Pharma is one to check out. The person behind this has worked on all the 3D assets, textures and decals!!! (!!! Big YES!) Not only is this cozy, but it's also incredibly educational too! With each medication/item you pick up displays a little icon to show what it is for, or if it's a perscription only med. (Not me also recognising items that I utilise IRL haha) + also to note, I know some of the names are not exactly the true names of items, but it still hits home! I have giggled at many of the names of the products and as someone who has travelled to the UK multiple times it feels as though I'm an Australian werewolf in London (if you get the reference, 100 points to you!) I feel like if a Boots/SuperDrug was owned by a wolf this is exactly what it looks like. The achievements have also made me smile too, especially the Ali G? (I had to read this twice to be like OOOHHHH) / what a sh!tty situation /what's with these homies dissing my girl I had a cheeky laugh at this, not forgetting to mention
' I thought it was diarrhea :( '
HAHAHAHA Until reading the achievements, I was wondering where a UI was for upgrades/abilities and didn't realise there is a computer we can use. (oops) I will happily do this now! However, I do have one request! I would love to admire your hard work and be able to zoom into the items so I can see what you've put as the description on some of the items! for example: 'Peepsee, the other one, cheaper fine.' - brilliant also giggleworthy. Other than that, no gripes, no negatives from me! Very good so far! Thank you for this, it's a wonderful addition to the tidy sims and keep the wonderful work up!
VERY tentative yes, if you're willing to make the time investment and wait for improvements. While impressive for a one woman team, there's a lot to be worked on; accessibility, for me, is the top of that list - the items are very difficult to see and parse through, and are small enough that even clicking on them can often be difficult. It's not clear where to get upgrades or anything, and I found out by sheer accident clicking around. Unfortunately these issues at current mean it's a little more difficult for me to play at the moment, and massively overshadow the great parts of the game - the attention to detail re: colours, numeration, and renaming of familiar items to name a few. It's not a regret purchase, but it definitely needs more time to cook. It needs a LOT of work, but it has potential.
*Edit* Developer answered amazingly quickly and while the settings still reset on reload, the skill upgrade issue was fixed within just a couple of hours of my review posting! *Edit #2* I have seen changes happening as I've been playing even since my initial review. There are some good changes happening quickly so please take the negative reviews with a grain of salt. It's a good game at its core. Pick up items, put them in their homes. I think a couple of things could be clarified and the packages are pretty similar in some cases so it can be difficult to differentiate between them. Sound has some issues, every time I load in my settings either reset completely or the sound is on for music even though I have it set to 0%. I have to go in and reset it each time. The biggest issue I have though, is that the computer for upgrading the skills is just unusable suddenly. I have maybe half of the upgrades unlocked and I can not proceed any further with them now.
I would hesitantly recommend Big Bad Pharma to fans of the organizing genre. There's not a lot of variety compared to other games, but it's actually pretty realistic to what it's like staring at a soulless pharmacy shelf. I work as a pharmacy technician in the states and it's interesting seeing the names of some of the products and how they vary from U.S. brands. It was a bit clunky at launch, but the developer has proven to be very responsive and this is clearly a labor of love for her. I think it's a reasonable enough price to justify, and it's a strong contender in the organizing genre for sure!
