Tackle for Loss is a 2D top-down action game that puts you in the shoes of a former American football pro. Utilizing his unique set of football skills, you'll navigate a gritty underworld, battling enemies on a desperate mission to save a loved one. Violent combat, a gripping narrative, and dark pixel art combine to create a high-impact experience inspired by the likes of Hotline Miami.
Combat is built around a brutal twist on American football’s four-down rule: you get four tackles - total - to clear each level. No button mashing. Just four perfectly placed tackles between you and the end zone. Sounds impossible? It kind of is.

SPIKE: Grab your enemies with a lethal grip and smash them into pieces with this melee attack.
PIGSKIN: Use your deadly precision in this ranged attack.
SKILLPATH: Rapidly eliminating enemies extends combo chains and increases score multipliers, rewarding players for aggressive and strategic gameplay. Unique moves and attacks can be unlocked through progression. By experimenting with a variety of skills and perks, players can develop and refine a variety of combat styles.
Tackle for Loss is a game solo-developed by Indifferent Penguin / Daniel Wichterich. That means I am the only person working full-time on this game. During development, I’ve been fortunate to meet people who have contributed in meaningful ways, whether through their creative work, valuable feedback, or support.

Aqui, você está na pele de um atleta de sucesso que acordou no porão de sua grande mansão e… bem, parece que alguma coisa aconteceu. Aparentemente, ele sofreu um acidente e perdeu partes importantes de suas memórias. Seu objetivo agora é descobrir o que houve com sua família e tentar recuperar o que sobrou de sua vida. Porém, para isso, ele deverá trilhar um caminho cheio de violência, enfrentando o grupo criminoso que arruinou sua vida. Um caminho violento e desesperado, muito bem refletido pela gameplay frenética e rápida, ao mesmo tempo em que é extremamente punitiva. Aqui, a regra é simples: se você tomar um único hit, volta para o início da fase. Uma decisão inteligentíssima por parte do desenvolvedor, pois resulta em uma gameplay tensa, onde o jogador se vê obrigado a dominar os movimentos do personagem, além de memorizar a disposição e a movimentação dos inimigos em cada fase. Uma tarefa simples no início, mas que se torna cada vez mais desafiadora ao longo do game. O jogo apresenta gráficos pixelados, uma escolha visual muito adequada para o estilo do game, pois, juntamente com a paleta de cores utilizada, faz com que o jogo tenha um visual muito bonito. O jogo também possui um sistema de itens desbloqueáveis, que incluem desde elementos estéticos, como novas cores para o seu personagem, até uma quantidade generosa de upgrades funcionais que te auxiliam no combate. A fantastic short indie title in the style of Hotline Miami. Great story, cool mechanics and nice soundtrack. Highly recommended and greatly underrated.

Was soll man sagen. Football gepaart mit Hotline Miami. Mit einer Story die einen nicht kalt lässt. Zugegeben bisher mehr gesehen als selbst gespielt, aber ist gerade nicht das die absolute Empfehlung? Ein Indie Game in dem sehr viel liebe zum Detail steckt

Do you like Hotline Miami? Do you also like the National Football League aka American Football? Do you also like the thought of playing as a man going through CTE issues? Well this is the game for you. Like the vibe of this game and I do love how they took that Hotline Miami like formula but incorporated NFL rules in there to make you strategize your way through the levels with the 4 Downs. It's a fun time and I think the storyline with it is cool too because you're playing as someone going thru the mental anguish of having taking too many hits to the head and now he's wanting to get his daughter back. But for the price, you can't miss with this here. It controls well and you can finish it pretty fast too. Well worth it in my eyes.
