About
You live in a dimly lit, exotic apartment basement in a small, cluttered office. You don’t know what your neighbors are up to. But you want to know everything.
In Beyond the Doors, your job begins every night right when your neighbors shut their doors
and disappear. Place recording devices near their doors. Build a chain to transmit the sound back to your basement office. Collect, analyze, and send these sounds to the people who request information from you each day.
As you place more devices, your network will grow more complex. It's up to you to set up the right connections and fix broken network. Use the credits you earn to buy upgrades, merge tangled chains, and build the perfect network.
Climb the stairs. Walk the halls. Dig through trash. Sometimes you’ll find random documents or new devices to aid your mission. While doing all this, you may witness some mysterious events. Maybe there is a different universe waiting for you behind the doors you think you can't enter.

imagine if voices of the void was only set in the main building and also the mechanics were half as in depth as the suuper early builds and also it cost almost $10 enjoyable enough but incredibly hard to justify the price both because its so so so early in development (like this is practically a tech demo), and because of the elephant in the room - voices of the void has much more engaging gameplay, a much deeper world, is overall just much more of a game, and is entirely free to play but im interested in where it could go in the future and i dont mind treating games as a sort of investment so if ur the same go for it
while this game is very barebones as of writing, I've had a lot of fun with it so far. but to be fair, i've found the cleaning to be very satisfying, and there's a LOT of that to do haha. i'm really excited to see where this game goes, it's got a fantastic foundation to build on!!!
It's so nice to have a game inspired by VOTV, I am currently waiting for VOTV's new update and finding a game like this really scratched that game itch I desperately needed. It has such a cool concept, the feeling of being isolated and trapped in this tiny complex really makes the game eerie. It will most certainly need some updates to make it better, but the devs listen and care. Just like Subnautica, you might need to wait until it is fully fleshed out to play it. I highly recommend playing! I am excited for this game's potential. :)
it tries really hard to be similar to Voices of the Void, a free game on itch.io created by mrdrnose with the ui and the whole gameplay mechanic of signal scanning, trash cleaning, computer ui and managing food & hunger but the whole idea of creating a system and the idea that you can record every door at once is unique ( even if i've gotten every upgrade with the introduction to Shade and how easy it is to get money as there's no downside to ignoring handling orders ) its cheap, a nice time burn, appealing graphics and i love decorating my room with memes and projecting SIivagunner rips on the wall
This is a decent game for how early access it is, and I would say that the quality of gameplay as of current lines up with the expectations of the front page. I will say I believe that it is *somewhat overpriced*, but honestly one or two major updates should fix that, and to be honest the game is 9 USD, Im not too pushed about the price at that cheap. With that said, Gameplay loop: The gameplay loop is solid for the first week, which is about how long you should be expected to play it. There are events after the first week, but Ill be honest the first week is when you max out audio production, and you dont get much expansion past that point. The game is in a very bare bones state right now, this is to be expected. That said, With that said, I do think that the game would benefit from having methods of making the tasks you have easier. The audio file system is alright on that front, but the delivery and cleaning loops need a lot of love. As it stands, even in late game trying to get all of them done takes all of you time, there needs to be at least a way to buy downtime. Elephant in the Room: Voices of the Void-like. Ill be honest, I disagree with most people's opinion on this. While it clearly pulls from VotV heavily, I dont really have a problem with it pulling as much as it does. There is a clear market for more VotV content, so a game that takes a bunch of the same stuff and uses it as a foundation was actually something up my alley. The game has *enough* unique twists with its similarities that it feels fresh enough to enjoy. Let it be known, this game is most certainly a case of "From mediocrity to greatness, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery." Due to its development, I highly doubt that it'll crawl out of VotV's shadow, and that sucks because the devs have clearly tried to at least play into with the expectations that comes with. Development: Excuse my language, but I highly ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ doubt that this game will take 1 year from even its current state to come into its full completion, let alone a year from its posting. I state this because of whats in the early access Q/A on the store page, where its a stated goal. That said, I do believe that the development plan is very much *achievable*, and I look forward to what the devs do with the game as it approaches those goals, I simply am doubtful that the game will be finished within the timeframe given.
Sadly it's not even ready to be in early access. It copies VotV but not necessarily a bad thing. There's just no content and what there is is pretty barebones and unbalanced. I want this one to be good, but it needs more time in the oven.
как я обожаю быть сталкером-шизофреном даже в играх и ловить слуховые галлюцинации я дома с таким усердием не убираюсь, как в этой игре самое бесячее пока что - туповатые мини-ивенты, отвлекает от собирания окурков
The game is very good, It's essentially VOTV style Hotel spying, my only complaint is it's SUPER short when you get in a flow/understand the mechanics, Not to mention every 5 minutes if you get too close to a door it'll just pull you in and send you to a traversal thing that I don't like, but those are my only complaints currently
its just not a good game. its not fun. just go play voices of the void instead of this. trust me, you will have a much better time playing voices of the void over this trash.
