Short story about a sick child who passes their time in the hospital by playing video games. The game is fine, just 2 things I would like to point out. The RC car has such awful physics, kinda reminds me of racing games on PS1, that I struggled on the last map to not flip over on every corner, at least you don't have to win against the ghost to get all the achievements. And the mini-game where you're supposed to throw paper planes into bins is way too hard, it took me over 20 tries to get 15 points. Overall an enjoyable experience, albeit not very long. Definitely not worth the full price but if you manage to grab it in a deep discount then it's alright.
I cried four times. I'm grateful to experience this adorable game.
good game upvote
Sincerely brilliant experience, great art-style and touching narrative. Insane for a student game AND it supports a valiant cause. Truly on the of the games of all time.
Video Gameplay: https://youtu.be/NFrfUWaArVI It's a wholesome game that touches on the rough subject of cancer. We play as Robyn, and it's really an experience of how they spend the day in between treatment. I've known too many people that have had cancer, and it's an absolute monster that should not exist. I think the game does a good job of approaching it in a way that straddles the fine line of hope and despair while paying respect to both the people that suffer from cancer and the people that treat those with it. My heart strings were pulled. My eyes teared up at least twice, which is a pretty big emotional impact for me. Not many games can pull that off. There are two main parts of the game. One where you're playing a 2D Platformer similar to a SNES title, and some interactions within your room as Robyn. Both are well crafted, and the pacing is superb. The achievements are fairly easy to complete, but I missed 2 somewhere along the journey. In the end, the game is truly a memorable experience and I definitely recommend it.
6/10 + story - short 5/10 gameplay. lots of little basic minigames - weird thing with platforming where the double jump doesnt always work - platforming is on the slow side +50% of revenue goes to Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity!
I'll be Brave Tomorrow is a heart wrenching story with a happy ending! I really enjoyed the story and art style. 10/10
A nice little game about what it's like to be a kid in a hospital. You switch between playing as the kid, and as the little robin from a platforming game the kid owns. And 50% of the game's proceeds go to the Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) Charity?! Buying & playing this game is an awesome way to support such an important cause. Here's my first impressions: https://youtu.be/BfehKfUmEwg
Fans of 90s platformers will appreciate the nostalgic and straightforward gameplay. I loved the clever story elements, but a standout feature for me was something quite simple: an interactive walkman, to play the games soundtrack. While the game performed well on my Steam Deck, I did encounter some minor bugs with missing text and a glitch in a mini-game that required restarting a level whenever I went off the tracks. The levels and mini-games themselves were quite simple, but these small issues didn’t take away from the overall experience. The game is a brief but impactful 3-hour play through, and I will always support a game with such a great cause behind it.
