About
A brutal FPS. One girl. One gun. One recording.
They broke into her life.
They filmed her. They destroyed her.
Now she's back - and she's filming them.
Better Than Dead is a brutal first-person shooter set in the depths of photorealistic Hong Kong.
You play as a survivor who’s done running. She’s got a pistol, a bodycam, and a kill list.
Every level is a raid. And every raid has a rhythm.
You'll die. You'll learn. You'll come back faster - until every run feels like the revenge scene it was meant to be.
Bodycam revenge shooter – Film every step. Every shot. Every death. No mercy.
Learn, adapt, dominate - Each room has a rhythm. Die, read the layout, and come back harder. Every run is faster than the last.
Photorealistic Hong Kong – Fight your way through iconic action-movie settings: neon-lit restaurants, seedy nightclubs, back alleys, rooftop dens.
Raw, aggressive gunplay - Slide into bullet time. Move fast. Hit harder.
Cinematic action style – Inspired by classic Hong Kong action films from the ’80s and ’90s.

Reviews
Like an FPS Hotline Miami but with more justified violence.
The good: Excellent aesthetics. Great graphics. Pure Kane & Lynch 2: Days of Dogs. The bad: Horrid gameplay. Frustrating is the word I'm looking for. I can't get past the level and it's incredibly frustrating. I won't play anymore until they fix that aspect. I understand that's where the game's difficulty lies, but it seems worse than Dark Souls haha

I will change my review of this when you either fix the brain dead civilian ai or remove them from the game, or remove the punishment for killing them. As it stands they make the game unbearable if you're attempting to get the highest rank on every level. They have no logic to their movement running in random directions, often more scared of you than the enemies meaning they'll run right at them causing them to enter exactly into your line of sight ruining the entire run through no fault of your own; maybe id be less upset by this if they had more intention and leadup to where they ran, right now they can pivot on a dime and switch directions instantly making them impossible to track and predict. TLDR; Games fun and looks nice mostly but the frustraition of poorly made or not well enough thought out systems ruin the experiance for me as of writting this. as i said at the start ill change this when the ai is fixed
Great concept, controls and precision aren't good enough to enjoy. engagements feel like RNG, you just have to keep trying until shots land.
Love the game! Worth every penny! But please rework Buried in Red... The artistic vision is great but in this level you can't see anything.
This is the craziest idea I have ever seen making a "Shooter". First there is basically no aiming. The best way to describe the aiming is the enemy and your gun sights are like the same poles on a magnet. Repel each other. Then if you get to close to an enemy you can't fire, but the enemy can unload on you. If you get shot once you can barely move, and as you do you jolt from side to side while trying to walk forward. It is also weird in the video's on the store it shows the game with the person holding a gun steady and not waving all over the screen like in real life. I also think all the positive reviews are from employees of the company. No way is a hardcore shooter gamer going to touch this with a fifty foot pole. I like to play shooters for the rush of lining up headshot after headshot, but to play a game where the aim is 100% luck based is not going to work for me personally. But to each there own. Use a mouse and keyboard if you do decide to purchase, the controller makes it even worse. The levels are short and require you to play them multiple times. The object is to kill brutally as quick as you can while avoiding innocents.
Masterpiece
kinda butt at the moment, blood decals are bad, npcs get flung when you shoot them, you literally have ONE gun, also innocents dont die they just lay on the floor and start twitching again after like 10 seconds even after a headshot. i like the story though. maybe could be another cyberpunk 2077 situation
Interesting Idea, great visuals, horrendous execution. these devs have clearly never fired gun in their lives. A 12 year old with glass bones would have better recoil control. The aim is horrendous and incentivizes a up close and personal "Run and Gun" style, but the enemies will drop you before you get close enough to do anything. I recommend the devs visit a shooting range and try out how a Browning actually fires
this game made me violently ill dizziness fatigue vomiting
