About
A brutal FPS. One girl. One gun. One recording.
They broke into her life.
They filmed her. They destroyed her.
Now she's back - and she's filming them.
Better Than Dead is a brutal first-person shooter set in the depths of photorealistic Hong Kong.
You play as a survivor who’s done running. She’s got a pistol, a bodycam, and a kill list.
Every level is a raid. And every raid has a rhythm.
You'll die. You'll learn. You'll come back faster - until every run feels like the revenge scene it was meant to be.
Bodycam revenge shooter – Film every step. Every shot. Every death. No mercy.
Learn, adapt, dominate - Each room has a rhythm. Die, read the layout, and come back harder. Every run is faster than the last.
Photorealistic Hong Kong – Fight your way through iconic action-movie settings: neon-lit restaurants, seedy nightclubs, back alleys, rooftop dens.
Raw, aggressive gunplay - Slide into bullet time. Move fast. Hit harder.
Cinematic action style – Inspired by classic Hong Kong action films from the ’80s and ’90s.

Ngl i really love the premise. Its brutal and crude, but we need more games with settings that say ♥♥♥♥ your polite sensibilities. Anyway the gunplay is ass but i think that is because this is a random victim of a woman that never held guns before getting revenge. So its thematic. Meanwhile the fact you are essentially untrained "jane wick" is just a cool idea in itself. Its a very short game, but its cheap, and i had alot of fun with it. The health is rather punishing but it rewards you being fast, and knowing how to fire and maneuver. If you're used to tactical games its not that bad. One thing i noticed is bullet penetration is also a thing which was fun to use against enemies in cover. The music also is so good. The only real downside to me is the fact you have no gun variety at all. Just the one pistol. I don't mind that personally but i can see this as a huge negative to not have ANY other options.
really fun concept but needs a lot of work. the civilian ai and the gunplay is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ass, also the punishment for getting hit once is ridiculous. In a game where you're supposed to be constantly moving and shooting, making your character unable to sprint and making the aim even worse when you get hit once by an enemy across the map is so unbelievably stupid.
Like an FPS Hotline Miami but with more justified violence.
Very fun, meaningful message. Although a little hard at times when many enemies are in a single room.
好玩儿,射爆了。
是一款好游戏,但是缺点也不少,1,每关流程都太短,2,只有一把手枪,3,不支持手柄,希望以后能丰富起来。
I know I only played a short time, but the game is straightforward. Escape from (Triad?) predators, keep moving, and move forward. Righteous vindication from your assailants makes this game challenging yet vindicating all at once. Truly hoping for controller support in the future!
nah man, imprecise shooting is not it no matter how hard the devs and enjoyers of this want to push "Hong Kong" action. You can be Hong Kong action without me needing to slide in a room full of enemies on sheer luck it's gonna be me who sprays, prays and wins and not them accidentally landing a shot that invalids my entire entry.
While it is still in Early Access, i have to say it does seem pretty flesed out already. if the Devs keep this up, they have a banger on their hands. Realistic yet obviously animated Visuals make this game feel like your own little revenge-tour. also have to admit a friend of mine, who often shows me some (in my opinion) mid games showed me this one, and i was hooked. however, i have not yet figured out why certain runs count as "soulless" and yet seemingly similar other runs get Blood rain or Black star even. i have half the levels black starred, but idk how. maybe put some better guidance, just as to what counts for a black star run. thats all i have to say, but i would get why you wouldnt put much more guidance, as this whole game is about not being guided but just rushing your own revenge
An absolutlely unique experience. Even though Ive only played for a short time, the story already hits hard fast. The graphics and gunplay are very good, and everything feels incredibly. I like that the developers arent afraid to adress harsh topics. Things Id like to see, although I am not sure if theyre possible to implement: Not infinitive Ammo, when Mag is being dropped after a forced reload and it stays on the ground, casings stay on the ground, tactical reload, gun jams -missfire, error to feed round etc. , error when reloading under pressure, bodies of enemies dont jump around after being hit.
