Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.14/day in the week to Jul 30 → 0.43/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

It's a bold strategy to make your first stage this annoying, sluggish controls and inputs mixed with enemies having frankly ridiculous tracking leads to constant deaths. You can't just mimic old school Castlevania without using the same methods, that just leads to frustration.
Great game, really fun, nice visuals, great soundtrack, with variable levels of jank and a couple of bugs still remain Go be a barbarian and slash some monsters aa
Behol-Bug?!?! - Its a fun game, I'll give it that; cool rich storyline, but much to be desired from it's potential final form! Just to put the ugly of the game on here: There are way too many bugs in the game it feels like it's almost in a beta version still. Do not roll under any platforms that allow you the space to roll under them or you stand up in the platform and lock the game out! Also jumping too high in the screen will make you fall out of bounds and a bunch of weird things happen at that point to where you're also "locked out." This can be an easy fix by adding extra platforms to not allow Beholgar to roll under and to close in the rooms to avoid jumping out of bounds, but still not done. I'll give it a thumbs up because it's still fun, but very annoying to actually get through it without glitching at many points in the game... save often is my best advice!
A try-die-repeat game dressed up as an old school metroidvania. Combined with controls that ignores your press on the attack-button about 25% of the time makes this a very frustrating experience. On top of this, at the start, enemies do about 33% of your total health in damage. I'm not sure if they were going for a retro-souls-like experience, but it's just frustrating when you want to sit back and relax with a fun game. Can't recommend this one.
While I enjoy 2D platformers and retro aesthetics, Beholgar one is beyond rough to play. It's frustrating, has many bugs, and the gameplay is poorly balanced. - Challenges in the game seem fairly forgiving with numerous checkpoints, but every segment of the game is frustrating, and often requires perfect rehearsal, otherwise you will die regularly. If you need to fast travel and retrace your steps, prepare to suffer. - The bugs are regular, particularly with UI. Menus in the game will overlap and lock you out of either menu (requiring an alt+F4). - There's so much missing polish, it's like it never happened. The game feels unresponsive on attacks, as you have to wait until an unseen cooldown is met before your next button press is accepted -- you can't pre-fire or queue up an attack shortly before the animation completes. Sub-Weapons are forced on you, and some are so contextual that you'll go through large sections of the game without the use of them. No enemy takes a single hit to defeat, and as your weapon range is poor, you will regularly take hits slogging through every area (enough hits, and its back to the check point). If all of these issues were touched up, I'm sure it would be a fine game. As it was released in 2022, I don't think there's any hope of an update. This one is a pass.
ENGLISH / FRANCAIS ENG : Game beaten * Summarized Analysis (- and +) * Marks * No Spoiler FR : Jeu terminé * Analyse résumée (- et +) * Notes * Pas de Spoiler ENGLISH As a fan of retro and neo-retro Adventure games, I couldn’t resist picking up BEHOLGAR, which was on sale for €1.50 instead of €7.50. First and foremost, it’s worth noting that this game was developed by an independent studio consisting of a single programmer. We DON'T REALY LIKE THAT : - the many minor and occasional bugs (difficulty exiting the shop menu, getting stuck in a wall after a roll, to get stuck on the ceiling after climbing to the top of a rope, the save menu remaining on screen even after exiting it, and inability to talk to an NPC. But none of these bugs are critical, frequent, or deal-breakers (no loss of progress or equipment, you just have to reload your last save and redo the last little section previous the bug, and only if you are stuck) - no map to help you find your way when you must comeback to explore the first levels (it's still a 2D game, no panic..) - the bosses are a bit too easy - the gameplay is a bit rigid in some aspects, which won’t appeal to everyone (retro feel ; it requires a bit of observation, precision and experience) (quick adaptation) - the pad is a bit too sensitive : you can't take small steps to well position yourself on the platforms (one click on the pad = 1 meter move = 3 feet move) - a not-so-great translation (but it’s still better than no translation, and the narrative clearly isn’t the heart of the game) - with your save slot #1 already in use, once you've defeated the final boss, you can no longer play to unlock the best-hidden bonuses or the missed Steam trophies (a trick from the developer to increase the replay value ?) - a strange button layout : sword attack the B button and projectile the X button, it's usually the opposite (your pad can easily be remapped in the game's options) We LIKE THIS MUCH MORE : - an action-platformer with an old-school style - a beautiful 8-bit pixel-art - play as BEHOLGAR the barbarian - go on a quest in a dark fantasy world - a few challenging platforming sections - the hero’s evolving abilities - quite a bit of exploration (personally, I like to take my time, visit every nook and cranny, and make sure I don’t miss any bonuses) - very frequent checkpoints - the difficulty of certain sections offset by an unlimited number of lives - but since nothing comes for free : the game takes some of your gold every time you die (annoying / original / fun - challenging) (you have to find mini-solutions to limit this problem cause your warrior will die very often) - a smooth adventure (the difficulty is pretty well balanced, once you get past the first few minutes and figure out each enemy's patterns) - a decent length for the price (game completed in 11 hours and 30 minutes, including plenty of time spent exploring) - the game runs on any graphic card IN CONCLUSION, indeed BEHOLGAR has a few minor flaws on the surface, but doesn’t a barbarian warrior look cooler with a few scars ? While it doesn’t revolutionize the Metroidvania genre, BEHOLGAR is still a solid little game that knows its strengths and is definitely worth a try. FINAL SCORES : - for €7.50 : 13.5 / 20 - for €1.50 : 17 / 20 ! - and without price consideration : 15 / 20. Recommended !
