To say this is one of the most unique games I've ever played would be....I wouldn't be close. I had tears at the end of this game and ok, partially because I tried hard to keep my eyes open to take in more of the scenes; however, you'll see why that isn't a bad thing. This is another reason why I say video games are an ART FORM. This is a moving story and I highly recommend.

This is a great game, it's a lot better if you take your time and understand whats going on in it.

Havent played this game since 2021, but it was a beautiful experience and i love it.

Before your eyes is a beautiful and well written game. Spoliers ahead!!!!!! When you start, you are already dead and you are in a sorta afterlife and you are picked up by a wolf that is a ferrymen and he looks through lives and looks for ones that have a good story to tell and he does his best to spin a narrative out of the persons memories. If he Manges to impress the gatekeeper which is this big kitty cat with three eyes he then gets a reward and you get to go to paradise. If the gatekeeper finds your story lacking or false, they will turn you into a liars bird which you will see in the beginning of the game. You then go through your whole life as Benjamin Brynn, he is a little boy who is eleven years old, who has his mothers dream of being a great pianists pushed on to him, but then he gets some sort of non curable disease lets just say cancer. You then go through a life which involves him surviving his cancer and then becoming a great painter. We then figure out that the life we just lived was just a story he wrote with the typewriter his mom gave him and he is still just a little boy with cancer. He wrote this story because he was worried he hadn't lived enough in his eleven years. He also has this friend named chloe who is his next door neighbor and what i would consider his first love. But having cancer and him being bed ridden its hard for him to hang out with her. Then eventually his mom reads his life story or more so the life he thought he wanted to live and she doesn't really like it because its a fake life, she then writes the real story of his life. I wont say much about the story written but then you tell the gatekeeper your story and make it to paradise. But when Benjamin Brynn died, he was ok with going because he had already lived a full life and he was everything he needed to be. This game is such a beautiful game that explores regret, expectations and the feeling of wishing you had done more with the time you're given. This game reminds us that a simple life holds the same value as a extraordinary one and to just remember your lifes value isn't dependent on your achievements or what you have done with your life, just by existing you have value. I hope this review is enough to make you buy the game and hopefully enjoy it as much as i did. P.S Its been a while since i played this game, i am writing this so i can get xp for my steam account so i might have missed some details big or small and I didn't go as indepth as i could have but its whatever hope you enjoy the game.
