About

Rediscover what was lost and nurture your reborn civilisation in Before We Leave, a city building game set in a cozy corner of the universe. Grow, gather and manage resources to help your settlements thrive, and share goods between the hexagonal lands and planets around you. Relax and expand the fabric of your growing societies and create a solar system of happy planets at your own pace. Not everything will go your way, though - use your wits and research solutions to overcome the challenges that your ancestors once faced.
Build settlements for the newly emerged Peeps
Discover and research the ancient technologies around you
Manage resources, pollution and happiness to avoid the mistakes of your ancestors
Trade between your settlements by sea and by space
Explore six unique biomes on islands of all shapes and sizes
Protect the Peeps from ancient beings that guard the galaxy
Your Peeps have spent generations underground. They’ve missed the caress of sun on skin, the squelch of soil between toes, the tickle of flies on noses. They emerge, full of wonder, but with no idea how to grow anything - except potatoes. Start rebuilding their lost civilisation by providing shelter, uncovering ancient technology, and expanding this reborn society to other continents and planets.

But the universe is not safe. Ancient, ancestral guardians demand attention and challenge your settlements - it’s up to you to circumvent these creatures that hamper progress and disturb your newfound peace.

There are no weapons, no battles with neighbours for control of resources - just you, and a solar system full of opportunities.

🚀
Before We Leave:
Before We Leave: When Humanity is Buried So Long Their Logic Breaks
Imagine your population has been interred underground for so long they’ve forgotten what the "Sun" even looks like. This is a non-violent city builder that makes you feel like a babysitter for a group of people so innocent it’s almost pitiable. Check out the First Look clip... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9HZSTZ-_TDU 🏗️ Gameplay Mechanics Build Everything from Zero: You must command your citizens—who’ve just crawled out of their holes—to start building wooden huts and expanding. Logistical Planning: You have to carefully plan where to place each structure because resources don't just flow like a river; there is massive logistical friction. Infrastructure Necessity: You have to build roads to connect absolutely everything and ensure nothing is out of place. Island Expansion via Shipbuilding: Build ships so your citizens can gather resources from other islands. Interplanetary Reach: Eventually, you'll take them to other planets via spacecraft. Pros: - Cozy Aesthetics: The visuals are incredibly soft, warm, and exceptionally easy on the eyes. - Intriguing Detail: The game’s depth feels genuinely interesting, offering plenty of activities and reasons to keep progressing. Cons: - High Pressure: You have to be extremely careful due to limited space and population; a single planning error can cause the entire system to collapse like a house of cards. - Repetitive Loop: The restricted space and scarce resources create a bit of a loop, and the heavy constraints can sometimes make you feel like your freedom is limited.
Before We Leave has a charming concept but a terrible tutorial. It overwhelms you with endless text about basic stuff everyone already knows, then suddenly throws in complex new mechanics with almost no explanation. The pacing feels uneven—too much reading at the start, not enough guidance later. It ends up disjointed and frustrating instead of relaxing and engaging. The art style and atmosphere are great, but the onboarding really needs a complete rethink.
Sehr schön und gemütlich, einfach mal etwas bauen, forschen & entdecken !
A Great, Relaxing Strategy Game with a Smooth 100% Completion ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Before We Leave is an absolute joy to play. It stands out in the city-building and 4X genres by focusing entirely on a non-violent, cozy experience. The mechanics are beautifully straightforward and less complex than traditional strategy games, making it incredibly accessible and easy to pick up for anyone looking to unwind. For completionists, the game is a wonderfully smooth experience. The vast majority of the achievement list is not overly difficult, and while one or two tasks offer some challenge, they never feel unfair. Excellent, well-written achievement guides are readily available online, and as long as you follow them, you won't run into any issues unlocking the full 100%. If you want a peaceful, planetary management game that respects your time and rewards your effort, this is highly recommended!
I have to be honest, I'm not a huge fan of city-building games, but I really, really like this one. At first, I was drawn in by the graphics—very simple and inviting—but after the first two hours, I found myself completely immersed in this little world. I don’t know if it’s the best city-building game ever, but if someone who isn’t even a fan of the genre enjoyed it this much, I think it must be a really great game!
Fun, wholesome, cozy game!
