Its like a undercooked cookie, edible but damn could it have been better if it had some more time in the oven. Heres hoping that they will loop back to this game at some point and add more content after they are "done" with their next project. Rinse and repeat...
Unfinished buggy mess. It's a charming and fun game when it works (rarely). I hope their next game will actually be finished by them because they are very unique.
Ah waited till after ah’d done up t’bungalow an’ built a proper decent-sized house from nowt before passin’ judgement on t’full game, like. Game’s proper deep, an’ wi’ t’buildin’ system, finally gettin’ summat together feels dead satisfyin’ after havin’ to work out all t’ratios, mix every bit o’ concrete, mortar, an’ that other concrete stuff, hammerin’ every nail, screwin’ in every bloody screw an’ all that. If buildin’ summat proper wi’out game holdin’ yer hand is what yer after, then aye, there’s a reet good job in it. An’ once it’s all done, yer can shove a lout in there an’ let it tick along... an’ that’s pretty much it. There’s only one plot, an’ if somebody’s livin’ in it, there’s bugger all else ter do except kip in caravan or patch up t’town wall for t’30th bleedin’ time. Map’s tiny an’ all, so don’t go expectin’ loads o’ explorin’. Yer just end up pickin’ up endlessly respawnin’ rubbish while t’whole place still feels empty an’ half-finished despite how small it is. Outside o’ t’buildin’ system, whole thing’s like t’town itself — a bit of a grim, hollow shell o’ what it could’ve been. Even then, sometimes t’buildin’ system feels like yer scrappin’ wi’ it just ter get stuff placed where yer want it lookin’ how yer pictured. As it stands, it just needs loads more stuff in it ter feel complete. Full release? Nah, shouldn’t be callin’ itself that in state it’s in. Get it on sale when it’s five quid or less, if at all, unfortunately.
Ah really wanna like t’game, it just needs a bit more substance there, like.
I really don't know how to feel about this one. I kinda like it... but I expected more? I was hoping to buy up plots around town and rent 'em out... but instead, it's the one ♥♥♥♥♥♥ plot and you sell houses away, I guess, on the back of a flatbed to the council, just to build another on the same crappy plot. There are fields around the place that I envisioned building houses on... but they simply exist to accumulate junk to sell each season. Feels like there was going to be more to this title, but the devs gave up? I don't know. I got it for 90% off, so I certainly got my money's worth, but I am still left feeling dissapointed. I can only recommend this if it's on sale.
Very fun for the first hour, though that's all you need to "beat" the game - Once you get to having tenants, that's about as much as you can do, no new content or game from then on, and the tenant stage is quite basic. Bulldoze/sell, build or renovate a new home, rinse and repeat. Could've been so much more. Still a good game.
Went to the pub, had 6 pints, a pie, 3 packs of pork scratchings, 2 shots of rum, was sick on my self then went to the slot machine to gamble, won some money then pissed myself and wasn't allowed to be served so stumbled home to sleep in my caravan. Then I loaded up Landlord Super. Honestly didn't start working on the house till about 4 hours in and by that point I'd been arrested twice for pissing on people and benefits fraud. Yes the game is buggy and not fully finished I'd say BUT the vibe and atmosphere this game gives off is brilliant and unique, building and decorating is fun and just living in the world is enjoyable. Can't say I would recommend paying full price due to the bugs and lack of some finishing touches. Great soundtrack and characters and a treat of a game to immerse yourself in.
Another buggy mess from Minskworks, this time 1/2 finished instead of 1/4, like Jalopy was.
The Good

The Setting
Offering a fairly authentic feeling experience, with some pretty banger takes on the situation (though a lot of it is quietly slipped into the achievements), it feels nice enough as a game world.
The Bad

Content
There is very little content. There's a few jobs, which seem to repeat (odd, considering they're pretty one-and-done sort of afairs). There's one lot of land, so you can't get a property going as a rental, and work on another. There's little story, few audio tracks, very little character interaction. You can retire pretty early - it seems most of the "content" is collecting achievments.
Quality
This game is often outright broken. I've lost wheelbarrows under the map, had quests fail to acknowledge completion, had stakes warp into awkward lances, and more. It's not broken enough to stop you, but it's bloody unreliable at best.
Gameplay
Collecting scrap is awkward and tedious, and is one of only two things to do when renting, the other of which is playing a very boring poker machine (which if you know how to work it, is a better payday than most other things). Keep in mind, that full wheelbarrow they show you in the trailer videos? That's not typically possible, with large, awkward hit boxes making filling your barrow very hard, and necessitating multiple loads (often breaking fragile items if you carry more than a tiny amount of stuff). Selling houses off the block and restarting isn't very satisfying, because it's a LOT of work to put something together, and scrapping it for a number that ultimately doesn't mean anything is just tiresome. And the glitches that can ruin work are nightmarish. Having a stack of building supplies go physics-beserk and demolish you whole job is heartbreaking - sure you can quit to the menu, reload the day, but it can undo a LOT of work. Renting houses is almost as bad. Tennants are ALL destructive, with better tennants just being less-so - and with no bond or fault notices, it's all YOUR problem. To the point that, if you CAN skip renting, you SHOULD. Which for a game called "Landlord's Super"? That's a terrible endorsement. Overall, there's just not much to do, and what content there is, it makes you redo it as a matter of course. This game DOES NOT respect your time.
Assets
The chunky, pseudo-CRT look of the graphics is charming at first, but quickly generates eyestrain. The limited music is sparse, and full of chatter, to the point where it can be hard to zone in - hearing a tape rewind is charming at first, but with only 5 or so songs on a tape, it quickly becomes a full 1/6 of your listening experience. Other sound effects are sparse, often leaving you in uncomfortable silence.
Overall Verdict
Skip it. There's better sandboxes out there, and there isn't much game here aside from the fairly broken building sandbox. 4/10
On its face, Landlord's Super is an examination of 1980's Thatcherist policy in the UK and for what its worth I found that pretty interesting and learned a bit about British history I did not previously know about. What is not interesting is how a game ostensibly about being a self-made landlord living in a RV and trying to mix the cheapest possible cement turns into functionally a gambling simulator very quickly. I have reached the point at about day 24 where I have sold all the scrap, done all the odd jobs multiple times and rebuilt the first house completely sans furniture. My literal only goal right now is to fit the house with a kitchen, bedroom and living room and my only source of income is to select between unemployment at about £4 / day plus gambling on the fruit machine in the pub or to work the dish washer job at £1.5 / hour and then gamble on the fruit machine. The fine for being caught signed on to benefits while doing that awful paying dish washing job is £150, also known as "just start the game over money" because I'd have to salvage 75 stumps or 100 broken sinks to make that money back. Frankly: I'm bored. There is nothing to do in this game but renovate and now that the renovations are done and I need to furnish the house I literally spend all day every day pushing the reels on the fruit machine in the pub because its the only way to make meaningful money. I get that the lack of opportunity is tied in the examination of the policy at the time but at some point the dev seems to have forgotten they were also making a game that players are expected to play. Final thoughts: I didn't sign up for a gambling game. If I wanted to play the slots there are literally infinite Balatro gambling clones on steam right now and that's just not what I wanted. I wanted to build a house, even poorly, with low grade cement and mortar I hand mixed by vibes and instead I'm just gambling every day because all other options are awful. This isn't a game about finding reward in a job well done, its about avoiding punishment for a job poorly done and the ultimate move is to just avoid the game completely. Do not recommend
It's a great idea. However, is terribly buggy, There are plenty of bugs extremely annoying, for example, not being able to apply motar on top of the windows frame. You can have objects disappearing, or jumping into the air. Some mechanics can be a pain like using the forklift or setting scaffolding. The game looks unpolished or poor quality control. It is a same because this could be a great game.
its a good game and all. buttttttttt. the job centre does give you the same jobs over and over, somethings arent properly explained to you like roofing, NOT WORTH £16.50 (i got it on sale which is the only time you should buy it) BUT dont think this means i dont recommend this game its great and the characters are pretty great. overall good enjoyable game just only buy it on sale (game also runs well)
