Survivors has you scrambling through hand-crafted stages collecting items and beating baddies for a certain time limit. Recognizable and classic Survivors gameplay
Gauntlet has you exploring linear stages destroying enemy spawners while you collect keys and unlock gates like the classic Gauntlet series.
Collectathon has you exploring set piece focused stages in the hunt to find all the collectible gemmies
Horde has you in a tight arena with a regular timed interval of upgrades and tasks you with defeating a certain number of a specific enemy
Boss stages put you against large multi-attack based boss foes in tight arenas with a limited toolkit
Volleyball and Deathmatch pit you in tight competitive arenas against either AI opponents or another real player via shared screen local play or Steam Remote Play
Navigate a retro over-world map as you clear stages in a somewhat loose order that allows you to pick and choose your favorite game modes.
Find tents in the world map to unlock new playable characters that have distinct play styles ranging from completely defensive kits to kits focused on speed and critical hits.
Use the coins you collect in stages at shops to buy permanent stat boosts or unlock shortcuts and more.

Kinda hard stage based riff on survivors gameplay, with a fabulous gameboy style and a cheerful soundtrack. I like what they've done with having a few different modes through the stages. I am terrible at it but I keep coming back!
I have been playing this game off and on since release. It is a great way to unwind with good vibes. Just finished world 2, and world 3 has been much more challenging. I love to see the continued improvements and features and this game fits perfectly into my "have 15-30 minutes to kill" bag.
I have played this game so much and have enjoyed every minute of it and played almost every level with every character! I recently saw that there was a 1 year update that changed some stuff up and I am super jazzed to check it out and see how much more fun will come from this amazing game. Plus I get to jam out to an awesome soundtrack.
I have never having played this type of game but I am pleasantly surprised how much I've enjoyed Beef Cat Ultra. I've played the console version on my Switch Lite but really love the balance and small changes in this version that make this a satisfying gaming experience. I haven't completed this game and am stuck on the Mountain but I can tell my stubbornness loves this type of game. I can see myself trying other games in this genre. Give it a shot, I think you'll be pleasantly surprised.
