Decent, but not great. The main advantage is ofc playing with own music. I like the general idea too. There's a lot to do within 2 (or more with DLCs) modes. But there are bunch of flaws: - The gameplay is lacking. Without DLCs, you control just 1 ship in meh gameplay loop that spams you with very repetitive enemies. DLCs add more stuff, but eh. - Why exactly do you need to collect volume...? - The music folder is annoyingly not remembered sometimes. - The effect of the music is often lacking. Some songs don't even present the same enemy patterns for whatever reason. Overall - 5.5/10 - slightly positive. I recommend Beat Hazard 2 much more. It's way more entertaining with more enemies, tons of various ships, no volume nonsense and syncs better with the beat. 1 can be skipped, it beats it only in terms of achievement variety and boss balance.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

I've had this game for a while and it keeps getting updates. Pairs well with mp3/ogg streaming radio stations! (As long as you are streaming song titles.) Challenges, unlocks, chill out mode... it has a mode for different moods, and tracks mood changes in the music well!
This game is an absolute blast to listen to some fun music and kill a little time. I'm not very good, but I do enjoy it so much,
"Embrace the seizure", mas bien embrace quedarte ciego.
