This game checks a lot of boxes for me. The art style is charming, the characters are funny and memorable, it is a management style game, and there is a lot of customization. On paper, it feels like something I should love. But in practice, the game just feels empty. I like the idea behind it, yet it often feels like it was not fully thought through. I like the game conceptually, but I do not actually have fun playing it. Most of the objectives boil down to talking to one character, then another, over and over, while completing very menial tasks alongside managing your bed and breakfast. Many quests feel like busywork, with some forcing you to wait almost an entire in game day to progress. While you can sleep to advance time, time passes extremely slowly, and you are required to wait until late at night to sleep. Once the sun goes down, there is very little you can realistically do, so you end up standing around waiting until sleeping becomes an option. After about seven hours, I realized I simply could not keep going. What really broke the experience for me was the item management. Your inventory is limited, yet each hotel has an infinite stash right next to it. The problem is that the stash does not connect to any crafting benches. That means you constantly have to run back and forth, grabbing the exact materials you need before crafting anything. Your inventory fills up incredibly fast, especially since furniture only stacks to five per slot and you are constantly picking up random items like food and flowers. I think this is a good game at its core, but it needs more to keep me engaged. Waiting forever just to go to sleep is not something I find enjoyable. On top of that, money is very easy to earn, but there is not much worth spending it on. If you can get past these issues, I am sure it can be a great game for some people. For me, though, it is just not something I will ever find fun.

14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Aug 22: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.43/day in the week to Aug 7 → 0.43/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Here's just what I can think of immediately after completing the game: -Pacing is super slow, there's lots of times you just have to wait around for time to pass -Storylines come out of nowhere and are dropped unsatisfyingly -you can't sell extra materials so you have to throw them out to make room in your very limited inventory -Room decoration is just a matter of fitting in as many decorations/pieces of furniture as you can instead of getting to decorate for fun -I had to Google what to do for so many quests because the game just did not give enough information to figure them out on your own -crafting menu is a pain, at least on controller, and the cooking menu is worse -It becomes very grind-y after a point. I think this is hard to avoid but was still bad to experience I was just overall super disappointed. I had fun for the first hour or two but was thoroughly bored for much of it. I wanted to finish it to see if it'd get better but it never did. The final quest felt super intense lore-wise out of nowhere and didn't change anything about the gameplay, and felt ultimately pointless. It also felt super disappointing to 100% the achievements and quests only for nothing to happen. Would not recommend.
I think this game is a good example of it's hard to make these kind of games. There's a lot of work and testing that goes into fine tuning cost vs benefit and how all of the systems interact to make things feel smooth and enjoyable. But in Bear & Breakfast a lot of this ends up feeling rough, unbalanced, and really grindy. The story is an after thought, it starts with a dream about a shadowy figure alluding to something ominous, then doesn't address it again for 10+ hours where it speedily wraps it up in an hour or so with a quick piece of dialog and a pat on the head, back to work. So the focus is clearly on decorating and running the BnBs, but decorating rooms is clunky with a sort of major and minor grid system. The major is used to build rooms and the minor used to decorate, but the walls take up part of that minor grid so you end up with a lot of narrow spaces that feel really awkward to try and fit decoration in that isn't just a room crammed full of stuff with a narrow pathway to the bed. But the guests really don't care, they're interested in being able to reach the bed (maybe?) and the decoration/comfort score of a room, so it becomes the most efficient to cram a much high score items as you can so that you don't have to spend a fair amount of time each in game day min/maxing guests to rooms (time continues to pass while you're assigning guests to rooms). The rooms don't end up being particularly aesthetic either, since you can't rotate the camera if you put a large item like a dresser on the south end of a room, it obscures most of the room which doesn't look great and can be a real pain when you're rearranging rooms. Then you get into the cost of decorations and furniture. Coins are used to pay staff, build rooms, and buy materials, you collect trash to use as currency to buy decoration, and then gather materials from across the map to build furniture. None of these feel balanced or meaningful representations of value to the player. Trash is valued at ~1-10 pieces per item picked up, you can then buy a piece of decoration that costs 30 trash and gives you 4 decoration points, but when you get into the 5 and 6 point range those items cost 300+ pieces of trash for a fairly marginal increase in points (the highest value item is 8 points for 1500 trash, when you get the same point value for two 30 trash items). Materials take a lot of time to gather, going through the 4 locations mahogany (an material that high tier bedroom items require a lot of) appears takes most of an in game day, to buy an equivalent amount of mahogany that you gather in a day is about 11-16 thousand coins. For the most part towards the middle/end game you're maybe making around 15 thousand coins a day (depending on how much staff you have hired and your layout) so you either spend your day gathering materials, or spend your entire daily income on stocking up on one material. This doesn't take into account the fact that most high tier bedroom items require silk which you can only buy, so for about 18k worth of materials you can make two beds. I had 18 bedrooms in the last area alone, the math just doesn't add up. Then the UI is a bit of a mess, nothing in the build menus is organized by level or item type, cooking recipies seem to be arranged by the order you learned them in with no option to sort it. When you're crafting items you can choose between furniture and decoration filter, the decoration filter has a single item (that's also available in the furniture filter), when you're building a room you have to pick the kind of room you're building, the comfort tab only has a bedroom, the utility tab only has the maintenance room, the hygine tab only has the bathroom in it, there's just a lot of wasted space and extra navigating to where you want to go. I couldn't find the final area to complete the story for a long time because the minimap completely obscures the entrance. Overall the art and music are outstanding, the dialog and characters are fun even if they often end up feeling as a drop box for quest items. Running the BnBs is actually pretty enjoyable at first, but they just keep layering on systems that pull the player in different directions and eventually at the end I just wanted it to wrap up. I beat the story in about 16 hours, I got 100% in 25, maybe 5 hours of that time between completion and 100% was spent letting the game run while I did other stuff to let the in game day pass so I could reroll to get certain guests for the last area's improvement quests, or just waiting to get x number of 5* reviews. If you like these kind of games this is a fine one to pick up on sale and spend some time in, but man does it make you appreciate the how much work it takes to make a really polished one of these. This game clearly has a lot of time and effort put in, it just falls short on its mechanics.
Quite relaxed game for the most part. And it has a nice mood, easy to see why most like it. But it has pretty large pacing issues where you wait around (while the hotels grind money). These become quite severe towards the end where hours pass on said grind. So while it's nice enough I am not really sure I can recommend it. At least not if your plan is to complete the game, it just has really weird pacing and comes across as unbalanced the further you go. (This lack of balance to some degree includes the main story, which is only in the very start and then again in the very end, the other 95% of the game it is quite simply missing) If you just want something for some hours it is probably okay though.
Maybe B&B is just not for me. Maybe it was designed for kids or more... patient people. Then again, I love games like “Stardew Valley” and I enjoyed my time with “Spiritfarer”. I honestly feel like - objectively - “Bear and Breakfast” is not a good game. But I'm just one type of gamer, so instead of hating on the game, I'd rather tell you what caught my attention so that you can save yourself a purchase if your expectations are similar to mine. Because I love the first “Mortal Kombat” movie and it’s objectively a bad film, so there. I won't pretend like there is nothing to love here: the art is on point, the tunes are nice and relaxing, and the overall premise is solid. But that's about it. Others have commented on pacing, but I'll add more - most of my game time felt like aimless wandering. Quest design is so bad that I never had a clear idea of where to go, since the map works as if it was designed by someone who has never played a videogame. I kept collecting resources that I had no need to use, which made me feel like I was not doing anything purposeful in the game. Beyond that - I love isometric 2D games, but when one designs environments for those, they must take into account visibility. In this game, I was bumping into objects that were invisible due to being covered by other, foreground objects all the time. Navigation was not just unfun - it was painful. And my god, everyone just keeps talking. You can't skip it, and none of them have something interesting to say. It's kindergarten levels of dialogue, which would be fine if it were engaging. Cutscenes are also annoying, because characters walk slowly and the game is programmed to wait until a character reaches you to start talking. All of this is incredibly bizarre and - again - feels as if it was designed by someone who has never played a videogame in their entire life. Combine all of the above with a noticeable llack of QA and numerous bugs, which are absolutely unacceptable for this price range, and you've got yourself one overhyped cozy game. I bought this one a few years ago and disliked it then. I did, however, give it some time to see if updates would fix things up, but after trying it again - I can confirm that nothing seems to have changed. I get it - some people love games like this so much that they are willing to overlook issues with pacing, dialogue, presentation and, well, practically everything. But I'm not that type of gamer. I don't play trendy stuff, but I do have an eye for quality and when something feels off, I just can't let it go. Sure: these are numerous little things. Realistically, the game runs fine and you can play it and probably beat it. But the journey is not pleasant: gameplay feels sluggish, tasks feel like chores and I spent more time feeling confused than excited to play. If it sounds like you have similar expectations - this is a skip for you. But if you love super-cozy stuff and are capable of overlooking numerous issues so you can have a dose of dopamine - you'll probably enjoy it. And you know what? Good for you.
I'm so sad I have to give this game a thumbs down. As you can see, I put in several hours cause I loved this game and wanted to finish it. There's a few minor problems with it I'll cover later, but the biggest problem, the reason why I have to give it a dislike, is IT'S BROKEN. 3 different times I got stuck in a place where I couldn't move anymore and when I exited the game, even by bringing up the task manager and trying to just cancel the task instead of exiting the correct way, the game automatically saves you in that stuck space so when you load the game you can't move anymore. The first time it happened was when I went behind that bird in the caves. I couldn't get back out and had to start a new game. Then I tried to go into the garden and got stuck on the gate and had to restart. This last time when the alligator tasked me to get 100 flowers, it happened at the same time a new day starts when the game says how much money you make. It placed me in a pond which I couldn't get out of. I'm at over 60 hours. I'm not starting a new game. I'll just watch a playthrough to see how it ends. Very disapointed. Here goes a few suggestions that I think don't make the game bad but it would be nice if they were fixed: The cooking menus can be touched up. The items you can cook seem to be in a random order. Ordering them from least value to most would be nice, with those that you can't make because you don't have the ingredients grayed out or having a little number over them showing how many you could make with what you have. Menu items: When you pull up certain menus, it should automatically filter out what you don't need. Why are my construction items being shown when I open up the cooking menu? Being able to move more than one type of item at a time into/out of storage without having to select all. If you could just highlight a bunch with the mouse like you can when moving files on a PC desktop, that would be nice. But yeah, I was a fan of this game and had wanted to finish it, but after having to restart it for a 3rd time, I've given up. I'm just going to uninstall it and move on.
I really wanted to like this game more. I did enjoy aspects of it, but I can only recommend it with a bunch of caveats. Bear&Breakfast is foremost a resource management hotel sim, and it does okay at that. It has a satisfying, if mind-numbing, gameplay loop of foraging, crafting, and decorating. It starts off rather cozy but only for the introductory first two maps before it starts leaning harder into resource management for the rest. It's also pretty buggy, though most decorating glitches can be fixed by exiting the menu. My major issues: - Frustrating movement. The maps are huge with annoying instances of object collision, which make for a really poor combination with your slow-moving character - Controls are jank. sometimes I'd have to empty an entire room to reposition one freaking lamp - Fetch quest tedium: The characters are fun and quippy but ultimately shallow, only becoming relevant for quests that often require a lot of back and forth and feel like a grind - Inventory management in a game that requires you to be carrying a million crafting supplies is a weird choice and it felt like it was added for the sake of trying to add more 'complexity'. There are upgrades that help this a little, but not enough. The story is also unsatisfying in that you're an inconsequential character learning about a really interesting plot, and then it ends very suddenly. It's hard to explain without spoilers. But it really left me wanting. The lore is interesting but the game is barely relevant and that's so frustrating :( Despite my issues, I still sunk 56 hours into it and went through the effort of getting 100% in achievements. I love the art, and the music is a vibe. My personal satisfaction came from maxing out all my hotel decor and ignoring my issues with everything else. I just wish I had more positive things to say other than "It was a decent distraction for when I needed to not think".
The graphics are cute and the core mechanics of the game are fine. The game is, however, also still very buggy in many places and does not feel like it has a proper ending. Most of the story lines go unresolved and are really quite sad. The end game is very grindy and it does not feel like a "cozy" game.
