Gameplay wise the game is fine, but the campaign missions are not well put together. What I've repeatedly ran into is the missions breaking on me because of something stupid. for example: Mission 6: You're suppose to keep your units back for a few attack waves before taking them to a location to destroy a building. If one of your units dies, the mission doesn't continue to the next phase and you're forced to restart. It fails you if you lose a builder unit you get later, but not for losing one of your combat units too early, which makes no sense. Mission 8: You're suppose to sneak from point A to point B without dying. Later in the mission, 3 units are meant to chase you the last stretch to point B where they are killed by allies. This last part was done horribly. If you're too slow, you get killed and (for some reason) start back at the beginning. But if you're too fast like me, the enemies wont chase you, and the mission freezes until they are killed. I ended up getting to the end, like I was told to do BY THE GAME, but had to restart several times because I beat the mission the wrong way.
Left and right is one speed up and down is another much speed. What the heck?!
Ein Kindheitstraum in besserer Grafik. Super Story.
Good for multiplayer. Campaign is very unenjoyable and requires constant quick saves
уникальная игра с уникальными механиками. таких игр больше нет, не с чем сравнивать. если ты ищешь лучшее из лучших - тебе сюда.
I got a lot of fond memories of this game, and this updated one lives up to that. Now with old mods added back in like Fleshstorm.
good game
If you’re looking for a game that dares to break the mold of modern "safe" genres, Battlezone: Combat Commander (the remaster of 1999’s Battlezone II) is a refreshing masterclass in hybrid design. It manages to deliver the adrenaline of a first-person shooter with the intellectual satisfaction of a real-time strategy game, all from the cockpit of a high-tech hover tank. Here is why this remaster is a must-play for fans of sci-fi and strategy alike. ### The "Commander on the Ground" ExperienceThe magic of Battlezone lies in its perspective. Unlike traditional RTS games where you are a "god in the sky," here you are part of the battalion.Lead from the Front: You can personally engage in dogfights, snipe enemy pilots, or flank a base, all while simultaneously ordering your scavengers to collect scrap and your constructors to build turrets.True Versatility: Don’t like the tank you’re in? Hop out. You can play on foot, use a jetpack to scout, or hijack an enemy vehicle to turn the tide of battle.Strategic Depth: The AI system is surprisingly sophisticated for its era; units gain veterancy, meaning your seasoned pilots will actually perform better maneuvers and use weapons more effectively than green recruits.### Visual & Technical UpgradesBig Boat Interactive and Rebellion didn't just port the game; they gave it a significant facelift that preserves the original’s eerie, atmospheric vibe while meeting modern standards.FeatureRemastered ImprovementGraphicsAll-new DX11 renderer with high-resolution textures and shader-based lighting.PerformanceSupports 4K resolution and runs buttery smooth on modern hardware.Steam WorkshopFull integration, making it incredibly easy to install community-made maps and mods.MultiplayerCross-play support between Steam and GOG, including the fan-favorite co-op 'MPI' mode. ### Why It Holds Up Today While many games from the late '90s feel dated, the gameplay loop of Battlezone: Combat Commander feels ahead of its time. The campaign is sprawling, featuring 24 missions across 6 exotic alien worlds. The sense of scale is fantastic. There is nothing quite like looking up from your cockpit to see a massive friendly walker stepping over you to join a firefight you just coordinated from the tactical map.
First played it in 98', fell in love and trying to scratch that itch ever since. The game is fast, fun, fantastic and the battles are epic. It also comes with an editor that can be accessed via console. There's just something about this game. It's got the sauce.
great 1srt person game
