Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.57/day in the week to Sep 12 → 0.8/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Reviews
More of what made the first game so good but also more of other mechanics which depending on your slant you might enjoy even more or not so much since it can get in the way of the tactical turn based gameplay in ways you might find annoying especially over time. The game also doesn't let you zoom out and the default zoom in the battle tactics mode is basically tuned for handheld gaming for like the switch or steam deck. Aiming can get pretty annoying due to having to scroll all over the place to see if the angles are possible or not on your snipe shots. Having said that the game is pretty good and fun and the navigating, exploration and combat on the seamap is great... it can just feel like a timewaster if you're moving from one end to the map to the other since there's no fast travel. Seems like the devs quit supporting the game less than two months after release and its obvious that the game needed some more QoL improvements plus bug fixing (certain items don't stack their effects while most do for instance). Don't think we'll get any more steamworld games anytime soon due to the publisher terminating their development team and the game could have used a good expansion to further elaborate on the meat of the game, the great tactical combat, but what we got here is still really good and quite unique. With any luck we'll get an indy developer or two making more 'heist-like' games... it's a very fun and satisfying gameplay loop to engage with.

Having played numerous Tactical strategy games before (and games of all sorts) since forever, I said confidently that Steamworld Heist was one of the top 5 games of all time. Playing this game on a couch with friends was a complete blast and everything. This is the only strategy game that's really worth it playing with other people, since the human behind the controller is doing the aiming and the shooting. Anyways, they somehow made that game better. Now there's a job system and stuff (the possibilities!!). And you can edit the 10+ difficulty settings, and set them to your liking. I really liked the attention of letting us set all the settings one notch over "hardest" (elite) if we really want to (and we do). I will say that there's a little issue with the game, where navigating the submarine each day (altho it is mostly optional) is tedious if you go for all the medals. Excellent game designer Loren Lemcke said this week on his Discord "It's kind of a gamedev joke that you often have to design the game to stop people from intentionally ruining their own experience with the game." Well, we are greedy, and it takes a lot of time to get all the loot, accross all the map. While we do that, we don't enjoy as much the game, I guess. Otherwise, this game is a gem like few others exist out there.

The core gameplay is still about carefully aiming your shots and bouncing bullets off walls, but the new job system gives you much more freedom to build your crew. You can mix different jobs, weapons, skills, and character abilities to create your own team. The game also adds a submarine and real-time naval battles, which fit the ocean setting very well. These sections add some nice variety between turn-based missions, especially during the first half of the game. The story, art style, music, and charming robot characters are also excellent. The biggest problem is the difficulty spike near the end. The naval battles become much more difficult, with enemy attacks that feel almost like a bullet-hell game. Still, if you enjoy turn-based tactics, squad building, and unusual shooting mechanics, SteamWorld Heist II is highly recommended.
Not as good as the first one... the new gameplay mechanics are irritating and there are so many different design choices, such as lack of manual save, that just make the whole experience unenjoyable. Any game that lacks manual save and has chapters that blocks return the previous areas will automatically get a Not Recommended stamp.
It very much feels like a direct improvement on Steamworld Heist 1. It's still a turn-based platformer with ricochet gunfighting, small annoyances were dealt with, clarity was added (abilities will directly spell out whether it just takes an action or ends your turn, now), and the whole thing is quite a bit shinier than before. The music had about the same ratio of hits and misses to my ear (and still by the same band), although it no longer felt like I was struggling to concentrate on whatever was being said while vocals were going off very loudly in my ear, which was appreciated. The characters also felt significantly less one-note than Heist 1, with something almost approaching subtlety in some of their arcs. Yeah, it's still pretty on-the-nose, but when it's being compared to Sally Bolt and her transition from "Ah can do anythin', ah was on a farm, ya know" to "teamwork good sometimes," I'll take what I can get. This is a LONG game (full mission completion with tactical gameplay, plus a little grinding clocked me in around 40 hours), and I did feel that a little, but for the most part the different parts of the overworld and the enemies within felt different enough to keep things varied. Add to that the actual navigation of the overworld (with enemies to jump you there, instead of a glorified level select), and it did mostly feel like I was navigating a great ocean. Complaints severe enough to warrant bringing up were few, but present: -The camera actively struggles to behave itself. Particularly firing to the right of the screen, it kept trying to center my view into uselessness. Manually moving the camera would occasionally prove problematic when dialogue or an effect came up, as these would always lock your camera panning, but not always center your view on what you're supposed to be looking at. -The narrator is a direct downgrade. 1 had a purposely cheesy, pulpy narrator to help keep you from trying to take the story too seriously. This one has someone reading very earnestly and amateurishly over its still frames, which never failed to kill my momentum. I think this impacted the story a little as well, as without that regular reminder that this isn't shooting to be Shakespeare, it occasionally felt like the game was threatening to forget that. Not often, but particularly near the beginning while I was still feeling out the narrative and my character has a moment to fangirl "Wow, famous band Steam Powered Giraffe! Incredible to see you!" I was worried things were about to go in a much more cringeworthy direction than they did. -I like that navigating the Sea is an actual part of gameplay, rather than just a glorified level select, but it did occasionally feel like grind was being added, and that commute was a big part of the beefy playtime. At times, it felt more like a work-a-day system, especially with you having to report back to the bar at the end of each day to rest your crew, claim benefits, and reset any missions you might want to re-run. That's about all I can field for complaints. This is a solid title, a return to actually furthering the overarching narrative, and I feel like it more than earned its asking price. Highly recommended.
Twice as long as it should be. I was in the final area at 24hrs in and just stopped playing because the last 10hrs had been a slog and the idea of another ~10 missions was just too damn much. I quite liked the first game. It was ~12hrs. That was right. This one, is very much not. It simply does not have the depth to sustain itself for that long. If they make a 3rd game in this series I will probably skip it. PS: running around the map in the sub is not fun. It is a chore. EDIT: Tried to push through and probably had three or so missions left to complete the game and gave up after one mission that introduced a brand new mechanic with no warning, no explanation, and no tooltips to explain the new enemy status where, if you do not play the mission in an extremely specific manner you get hit with a map-wide explosion that will kill any damaged bots and infects you with a debilitating DOT status effect -- basically a guaranteed party wipe. Worst game design decision I've seen in a long time.
As a leftie from Germany I have to unfortunately give this one a thumbs down: - Some buttons are from what I've seen not rebindable - Keys that aren't on the international keyboard layout. like Ä, Ö or Ü, are not supported
Прямое улучшение первой части. Более эпичное, разнообразное, проработанное. Отличное продолжение, браво!
