This is the best modern adaptation to anyone that loves the BATTLETECH world. This plays more like a 3D rendition of Mech Commander (old game) than it does Mechwarrior (FPS) - which is exactly what I was looking for. There is no other game out there that even comes close to the MC1 or MC2 style of 3rd person, tactical play. The only qualm I would state, is that each mission is based on a 4-mech capacity. In that, you would always bring the heaviest mech you possibly could for longevity and survival. That makes a lot less sense than what they used to do in Mech Commander, which was provide weight limits. This way you could decide between 5-7 light/med/heavy mechs vs 4 assault mechs if you had a 375ton weight limit for a mission, for example. In this game, you would always just bring your 4 most kitted out mechs no matter what. I think that detracts a little from some of the nuanced strategy in MC. Small qualm only. Still highly recommend the buy.
Love a big mech stomping around
A great introduction and revival of the TTRPG. Though limited in the overall scheme, it is a great title to have. Hair Brained Schemes does not fail with delivering this game in their turn based platform. The Campaign mode (story line option) (highly recommened playing that first) brings you into the Battletech Universe. The Career mode (1200 day achievement, then continues onto an endless run), gives you a feel for being a mech commnader. The engineering aspect of stripping down and reuilding/redesigning the various Mechs' and their weaponry is the true feel for the game, and testing it out in combat gives you the proof of your work. Recommened: Hell YES! Replayability: At first very intense, though you will come back and play it again. Drawbacks: Needs more content and more Mechs' -Universal Gamer

It's a bit different than I was expecting somehow, but it's fun. Lots of depth to the strategy, story is interesting so far. Hangs every few minutes, but as you can see from my specs, I have a rather old computer.
Great turn based tactical mech game.
One of the absolute best games in this genre. hopefully they make the second version or release more DLCs.
It's okay.
