I'm an old player of the tabletop strategy game, so I'm a bit biased. Obviously it's an awesome game for the Turn based Strategy type, which I love. The respect for the lore, the visuals (both in game and cut scenes - hand drawn) are impressive. With an incredible OST that makes me think I'm in a movie, this is something that I will give a 10 out of 10. And you you search a bit on the net for mods, (which are supported), you can expand the scope even further (battletech expanded tactics, Roguetech, etc). For modern average pc's, it runs beautifully.
you have to be patient, but there is gold here.
This is a must play for all fans of the battletech world

this game was great. lots of fun trying to simply replay maps to get the right kills on the right mecs so that the right weapons are salvageable. a game, within a game.
Big mechs go boom
A very tactical and engaging gameplay. The story is simple but engaging and the way it is presented I find it very appealing. I got addicted to the game loop very recently after having abandoned the game at first well because I sucked. But now that I got the hand of it, Its Really Good!!!

Is great, love the interface because it reminds me of Mechwarrior 2: Mercenaries.
Fun it feels like X-Com mixed with Mechanicus. I have a feeling if you liked either game you will like Battletech.
