I only got this cause I used to play chess on it in 1988 with my dad. Miss you pops.
When I first played this game in 1990, and it ran really slow, I just assumed it was my computer. 35+ years later, and it still runs painfully slow - I'm pretty sure its the game.

BC carries the weight of days we let slip forever. Strategy wrapped in playful nostalgia, a reminder of the time we didn’t treasure enough. A must for any chess enthusiast.
Battle Chess was my very first computer game. In 1994 my uncle gave us an old IMB computer. It had the separate power supply tower and everything. I played Battle Chess 24/7 on 5.25" floppy disk and never turned it off. Slowly the processor decayed. It started to take longer and longer to calculate moves and execute animations. Eventually the game wasn't able to process chess moves anymore. RIP IMB still in the barn, my best chess buddy. :) Thanks, Interplay Entertainment for the most awesome computer experience 5 year old me could ask for!
It's still as slow as it was when I played it on my i386 PC in 1989. There is no reason it should still be so slow. I'll give it a thumbs up when they have the option to speed up the battle animations.
I played this game as a child. Now my child plays it. Old game, new players.
This game was my childhood haha, it makes me smile everytime i play it. That said, it is literally just chess, what makes this game special for me is the animations, and how funny they are. But other than that, it's just chess. I still recommend it though, it is funny.
