Bastion

Full review: https://thegamehoard.com/2026/05/10/picking-up-steam-bastion-pc/ Bastion reels the player in with the beautiful environments that get constructed before you as you walk, hits you with a narrator whose voice and words make you lean in, and plays a soundtrack that adds some extra character to its deceptively layered setting. The action isn’t always clean or particularly advanced, the weapon range and customization giving you ways to play how you like but interactions during a fight aren’t always the best. However, the training ranges and levels that push things into new directions still make the combat and exploration a worthwhile piece of this artful package.

Es un juego visualmente hermoso, esa estética y colores del mundo son un gran acierto. La jugabilidad, las mecánicas y los niveles están muy bien hechos. La historia no es el fuerte de Bastion pero cumple su objetivo, aunque la narración de la misma y la banda sonora (muy buena) hacen que sea inolvidable. En cuanto a la dificultad, no es un juego difícil y si se sabe cómo administrar las habilidades, armas y la forma de subir de nivel, llegar hasta el final no será complicado. Acá la dificultad está a cargo del jugador y de los dioses del templo. Y si bien es un juego algo corto (8-12 horas), su rejugabilidad es atrapante. Lo recomiendo mucho.

For a game that's 15 years old, it still looks pretty good. The game works great on my XBOX Aly X. The gameplay is solid, and the story is.....fine. The game is short, but there is a New Game+ mode if you want to go back and play a second round of the main questline. There's also LOTS of weapon trials that you can do that likely doubles the game's length. I, however, chose NOT to do most of them. If you're an achievement hunter, then the achievements in this game can be quite challenging to get.
