Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 3/day in the week to Aug 14 → 5.29/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 23 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 14 places towards #1, and the 2,420 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

childhood game. I love it
This game has a lot to like. It was more or less revolutionary in the Western RPG genre at the time, and paved the way for some truly fantastic games in the future. The application of AD&D rules functions well and there is an impressive diversity in the kinds of characters you can create. I won't criticize the characters and their interactions, despite finding them rather shallow, because of the landscape into which the game was born-there was simply no benchmark. Nor will I criticize the empty feeling of most of the maps-it is impressive enough that such a large world was created in a North American RPG from 1998. I will instead focus my criticism on things that I wish Beamdog had improved with the Enhanced Edition. First and foremost is the combat. It has a tendency to feel weightless and unsatisfactory, especially early on. Your characters will most often walk up to an enemy and flail ineffectively at them, missing their attacks for reasons that seem unclear even to advanced players. It's difficult to tell if and when you've actually hit an opponent, unless you make a critical hit or are paying close attentions to healthbars. I know graphical limitations were and remain an issue in this case, but I wish they had addressed this issue in a way similar to Neverwinter Nights, where they partially bypass this same issue by including animations of characters blocking, parrying or ducking attacks, so it is at least clear when and why you've hit something or not. I admittedly don't know how this might work in the Infinity Engine, and it does seem they tried to address this issue in BGII and SoD, having characters comment on their weapons missing or having no effect, though this comes with its own issues-hearing Jaheira yell "My weapon has NO EFFECT!" over and over really grates on you after a while. My other gripe would be the character portraits. This may seem minor, but with the graphics as limited as they are, these portraits are really the best and only way that we get a glimpse of who these characters are. I know they have been unchanged from the original release, and I'm certain they looked good back then, but on modern hardware, I find them unpleasant to look at. The artist chose to give each character a strange, oily finish that makes the characters look rather like photographs with a big, greasy fingerprint on them. It's distracting and looks pretty uncanny. Other characters just look very off. Imoen looks to be in her mid-60s, when her character is in her early 20s at the most. Xzar seems to be pulling his own face off, though I suppose that's in character. Neera's eyes are way too big, making her look like an anime-esque freak. And I can't even tell what Viconia is supposed to be doing. Ok, now I really am nitpicking. Anyway, game good, minsc hamster squeak haha

A true classic, recommend for any enthusiast of gaming history.
I love D&D RPG
GREAT GAME AND OLDIE BUT STILL GOODIE
Just THE ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ classic CRPG, changed my life in 1998, still ROCKs to this day. Like CRPGs? Just enjoy this TREASURE!
One of the best RPGs ever created - highly recommended!
I am playing BG1 Enhanced Edition for the first time, its too old for my liking I really hate the combat. Besides that I used to like the game until I recruited Rasaad, I decided to romance him (playing an elf female chaotic good) that said before I was able to even speak to him my party was attacked by this guy that causes Rasaad-quest and romance bugs. How could I've known? So I had to use the console to FORCE the encounter at the harbor, allowed the group to sleep 3 times, no conversation so I decided to continue his quest and tried to sleep in game more than 15 times to trigger another conversation NOTHING. I AGAIN tried to force a conversation using the command something something (99999) and then slept NOTHING. He is in my party and I am about to give up playing... how am I able to romance this bald guy? edit: I am liked by all good characters and even got the achievement Thanks to his Bugs I honestly don´t want to continue... why even bother if I cannot romance him
