NOT AN OTOME if anyone's looking for that info. <-- shoves this at top in case others like me ere looking. Although it's certainly good and quality and so many things I love to see - it's not the one thing I thought it was - and it is my own fault for not looking into it more at the time. I see visual Novel, I see sim, i see cute interactions and.. Well yep thought was an otome. It's still good for sure! Just.. Not what I fully wanted alas. Still giving it a thumbs up though - if you enjoy just the story and interactions as is it's reeeeallly good. i just wanted silly routes :( I did wonder how it was gonna work and stuff but hfjdsl

B-Project Ryusei Fantasia is part of a bigger franchise that started back in 2015. There are several anime series, a manga adaptation, a rhythm game, a stage play, multiple music CDs, and a range of related merchandise. The game is a no-romance josei-muke about several J-Pop boy bands that are merged together into one big group called “B-Project”, formed under the Gandara Music record label. The main character, Tsubasa Sumisora, is a newly appointed A & R representative (artist & repertoire) or simply put, a person who is in charge of these idols, who oversees their schedule and helps them prepare for shows. She is not only knowledgeable about music but also helpful and considerate towards the boys, earning their trust and admiration very fast. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3371095334 The story focuses on the 14 members’ trainee days and the challenges they faced on the road to success. It’s a slice-of-life visual novel, arguably with a coming-of-age narrative, as the idols are still very young (17 - 20 years old). While Tsubasa Sumisora’s age isn’t clearly specified, she seems to be not much older than the boys but acts very maturely and responsible towards the boys, while also constantly keeping a friendly, supportive and deeply caring attitude towards them. Getting used to the individual personalities of each of the boys might seem difficult in the beginning, but the game facilitates this by introducing them one by one, based on their original group. Each of the boys has a unique personality that stands out from the rest of the group in a specific way and you’ll also get to know them one by one through individual conversations, but also through their interactions with the rest of the group, which are always adorable. There’s a lot of banter between them and plenty of funny and cheerful exchanges, topped with some heartwarming one-on-one dialogues. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3371095286 To help the player easily identify them, the logo of their individual group is visible on the side of the dialogue box when a character speaks and their names are also color-matched to their outfits or portraits. The design in this regard is well done, although I felt that one missing element was displaying the connection between their stage name and their actual name, which the player has to always keep in mind as it’s not visible. Since it’s a music-oriented VN, the soundtrack is obviously outstanding and the J-Pop songs performed by the band are all stellar. The game is also fully voiced, with the voice acting being on par with the soundtrack. The main protagonist might sound familiar to you, as she is voiced by the same voice actress who worked on the corresponding character from the anime series, but other voice actors also reprise their roles. With B-Project Ryusei Fantasia being the latest release of the franchise, the game thus feels like a continuation of the anime, although it can perfectly be considered as a standalone title too. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3371095350 Due to the high-quality design and lengthy content (~65 hours, more if you want to explore all endings), B-Project Ryusei Fantasia is an easy recommendation not only for the fans of the franchise but also to anyone who is into J-Pop and likes reading VNs. Keep in mind that it’s not an otome game (if that has any relevance to you anyway), but the dynamics and chemistry between the characters are all great. B-Project Ryusei Fantasia in a nutshell:

Deep narrative
Immersive atmosphere
Large cast
Story centered around the growth of the characters
The choices are aimed at unlocking bonus content (five stories for each character) for the characters and only a few of them seem to influence the ending
Good pacing, it might feel a bit slow in the beginning while the characters are introduced, but it picks up the pace rather fast when you start diving into the personal stories of each of the characters.
Likable characters
Excellent soundtrack with very catchy songs
No sexual content
Two routes, each of them focusing on different characters, leading to different groups of endings
Live2D animated characters
Fully voice-acted protagonist
💜 If you like this review, please consider following Lilly's Corner Curator page 🌸 Website
I've loved B-Project for over 7-8 years and I'm so happy that the game is finally here and localized! I hope many more people will understand the charm of these idols! I can't wait to get every achievement, and I really enjoy the gameplay and interface <3
100% recommending this game to others (definitely not because of my brainrot or bias of mikado sekimura my love.. -) putting that aside, the amazing voice acting depth performance, the pacing and introduction of the story was very thorough added with the live 2D animations in this visual novel really brings the characters to life! while 14 boys my initially be a lot and can be overwhelming, you'll really learn to love for each one of them as we learn more about their character and personality <3 ps: the added extras that was given really ties up the whole dynamic and chemistry that B-Project has to offer and the reason they shine so brightly.
This game is really heartwarming and sensitive; with a wonderfully rich cast and very nice music. However, it is not an otome game, and a lot more like a slice of life visual novel (as it is a mainly linear story that concerns the mc's daily dealings with her company, staff and the idols/ music she manages)! When playing through the daily working lives of Sumisora Tsubasa (the mc) and all 14 boys that make up B*Project; I fee; deeply emotional and moved by how interesting and varied every character is in this visual novel. The plot mainly concerns Sumisora managing the boys in their sub-units (Killer King, KITAKORE, Thrive, MooNS) as well as helping them out with their personal lives, advising them via texts on the JOIN app, and engaging in phone calls with them as well. It is a slice of life visual novel which concerns their work-related activities, as well as some fun 'off time' lounging and conversations, as well. Although the story is mainly linear, you can choose texting options in-game whenever a member messages you; which is fun! Thee conversations vary wildly from work life, to cooking, books, and even getting called out for walking during texting XD Each guy has a little enjoyable aspect to their personality, meaning that none of them are boring- which is a RELIEF! I appreciate a game where all the main characters are fun to watch. Sumisora is also a very dependable and likeable woman who does her job to an extremely high standard. However she also faces imposter syndrome and times of low mood too, yet is comforted by the idols- making for a really warm-hearted and loving game in which both Tsubasa and the boys all support and care for one another in their unique ways. Although this game has no romance routes, some guys definitely flirt with Sumisora; and quite a few seem to have a crush on her, as well. So the game isn't completely devoid of any romantic undertones. However, I do think this works in the game's favour. Because the romance isn't forced (unlike quite a few otome games I've played), the progression of Sumisora's relationships with the guys feels natural, and even deeper on some levels due to there being no rush to plonk in archetypal romantic plotlines into the game. I'd in fact argue that some otome games could take a tip or two from B*Project when writing relationships: the guys treat Sumisora with a lot of grace, and care about her feelings and opinions on a level that has me pretty speechless at times. I would love if some romance games also worked on developing friendships between the mc and main guys to the same degree that B*Project has all the members build their bond with Sumisora. Every guy has his own quirks, his own thoughts, issues and emotions. They are pretty well developed characters, and not one dimensional in the slightest. Honestly, for a game where I cannot make many choices, the characters are so decent that I barely mind this. As for the soundtrack, it is simple but effective; with really nice backing tracks that tend to be mellow and cheerful. The voice actors are very talented, and the idol songs are also of a very high quality. This game also really is a masterclass in musical theory, as well as exploring the hard graft and work that goes into producing a successful idol group. The game also has a lot of extra stories and content for every guy, so if you have a favorite there will be even more scenes of them once the main story is done. Honestly, I much prefer this game to an idol gacha game as the sheer amount of content and well written characters is worth every penny. Finally the UI is SLEEK! Some designs remind me of persona 4's UI, and having the menu on a phone makes it really easy access. Rating: 10/10 SPECIAL PROS FOR: Art (lots of CGs), brilliant characters, the characters have genuinely interesting and fun dynamics with BOTH each other AND Sumisora; that reach a level of depth that even some romance and otome games are missing.
It was such an incredible experience I don't even know where to start from <3 I've just checked the store page and only now found out what a huge thing it really is: a Japanese cross-media project about a group of virtual idols that began in 2015, featuring an anime series, a manga adaptation, a rhythm game, a stage play, multiple music CDs, and a range of related merchandise. O_O I'm astonished, I had no idea ahaha :D BUT even being kinda far from all the idols, musical concerts etc I still enjoyed this novel! I admit, as it's not my thing I was a bit reluctant first but soon enough I was immersed in this story so much, now I feel slightly sad to say goodbye, I've been with those guys through thick and thin for so many months :) At least I know what I'll do after that – I'm gonna watch all three seasons of B-Project anime. They got a new devoted fan here :) You play as an A&R manager of an idol group or more like several groups within one big project with 14 idols. At first I was so confused, with my poor memory for names (esp unfamiliar foreign ones) it took me so much time to memorize them all but then they became a significant part of my every day life. I was reading slowly reveling in the process, plus there's a really huge amount of content: not only long routes with lots of attention to every idol but lots of extra short stories. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3323034351 All the characters are so appealing, it's hard even to choose my favorite. Art is gorgeous, more than a hundred of screenshots in my steam collection is a proof :) It's been a while I felt the urge to save so often while playing. Everyone is just too handsome (●♡∀♡) It's a really well-written story with a decent localization, finally! \o/ Sadly, I don't see it as often as I'd like to. Welp, there were some typos but for such a huge work it was really a very rare occurrence. I never felt indifferent while reading, it was such an emotional roller-coaster. Their hard work motivated me to do my best in real life, I was ecstatic and elated when they reached success and resolved any difficulties, I felt heartbroken when they had to face and overcome some hurdles in their path. As for MC, sometimes I felt so proud and excited to associate myself with her, give her my name, act in unison, all that useful and hard work she did for the sake of those awesome guys. It was such an inspiring experience! BUT in some routes, with some guys I felt so furious ⋋_⋌ Those terrible decisions that were made and how negatively they affected those poor, delicate souls, urgh it was infuriating to feel as some incompetent, stupid moron (`□′)╯┴┴ But now having calmed down I actually believe it was a great choice to present mc as someone so realistically human, meaning well and sincerely caring BUT not being omnipotent and making mistakes in the process. It made me feel one more time it's natural not to be perfect BUT when you work with people, esp children or teenagers, the price of your mistake can be really devastating. There are no explicit romantic routes here but I find it even perfect, with a focus on their professional life mainly BUT occasionally and in extra stories the attention was switched more to their private lives and personal relationships, things never went too far but even some hints, slight romantic tension felt incredible! Blushing guys are always gonna be my favorite (。♥‿♥。) https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3323034367 Praises: +lots of bright, unforgettable characters +music, art, story, everything is really top-notch. +achievements, one more perfect game in my steam collection +voices are just perfect, some of them even I could recognize from other anime series, they sound just heavenly! +it's not just a lighthearted story, or focused solely on their music, there are so many heavy, deep topics. What a wholesome novel it is! <3 Complaints: For the first time ever I don't feel like complaining at all:) I guess, I just wish there was a guide. I should have saved my choices and create one myself but it was too late when it occurred to me. Though honestly I'm still at a loss what exactly I even did to switch to a different route, lol:) But if even I managed to get all the achievements, it's really doable for everyone:) I just wish I hadn't wasted so much time skipping and trying to figure out what to do. It'd be so much easier with a guide. I hope one day someone will create it when I decide to replay the game :D https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3467627034 I definitely recommend this novel, even if you are not a fan and know nothing about them as I did, lol :D. It definitely deserves its price tag. I'd like to replay it later. Gosh, I don't know what I've done in this life to deserve a free copy but I'm immensely grateful for this honor ♡

[th]More thoughts about the game in a Reading Nook [/th]

if bpro has a million fans, then i am one of them. if bpro has ten fans, then i am one of them. if bpro has only one fan then that is me. if bpro has no fans, then that means i am no longer on earth. if the world is against bpro, then i am against the world.
Bプロ最高!!!!
Idol VN + great art/music + 14 guys = Lights, camera, action. This is how boy groups are made with all the fanfare/groupies. Animated and voiced. This price can get a sticker pack at idol events.
