This is a video game about having your eardrums blasted out of your skull by Flak explosions. if you are not suffering from Shell Shock by time you're done you're not playing this game correctly. It's a shame it barely works on modern computers.

With that said, players can expect to immediately face the torturous control scheme, where it is a feat in its own to lift off the ground and an almost Sisyphean task to land without crashing. Not even the tutorial missions can alleviate this fact, as they lack guidance and expect players to have read the 100+ page manual first. As someone familiar with programs like Microsoft [i]Flight Simulator[/i], there are better ways to program simple and elaborate flight controls without requiring a thick manual. This game may as well require players to have 1,500 total flight hours in real life as well if they want to go the extra mile in being as technical and burdensome as possible.

Was pretty fun back in the day for the short time I was able to play, seemed pretty realistic too. Steep learning curve I never totally conquered but I was learning it as I played. This still seems pretty much the same, I just haven't had the patience to relearn as of yet though, impressed it's playable! Very immersive and nice atmosphere too.

I've bought this game in CD format, with a huge manual. It is perhaps the best and most realistic simulation of B-17's to this day. When you climb above 10,000', you need to switch on your fuel boost pumps so you don't encounter fuel vapor lock at high altitude. Use cowl flaps to keep oil temperatures around 205 degrees Celsius. This is the level of detail in this game. There are bugs. The planes tend to crash into each other if you plan a turn for your squadron that is too sharp, especially if any of them have damage. That's the worst problem. If you have damage, you may have to turn off the auto pilot and fly manually to keep your B-17 from spinning or keeping it in formation. I've heard there is a new iteration of this game in the works. I hope so. If it's anything like the original, it'll be amazing.

es uyna simulacion bien lograda, claro está, con las limitaciones de la época en lo que a gráficos se refiere. pero lograron un juego bien en lo referente a la simulacion propiamente dicha, en mi opinion es un 7.5 de 10
