Awakening 2: Moonfell Wood (IHOG) Princess Sophia continues her journey to find her people, joined once again by her fairy guide. It's not long before we find a fiery little dragon to help us along the way, and this cute little guy stays in our inventory throughout the game. Options include separate sliders for Sound and Music, Full-screen and Custom Cursor. Choice of Normal or Casual Mode. The Steam overlay does not work with this one, so no easy screenshot-taking. I did take some manually and will be adding them to the Artwork section soon. Despite the fact that I bought this game soon after it came out, this is the first time that I've actually played it. Although at first it looks like Moonfell Wood is just a cookie cutter sequel, it is actually much different than the first game. We will still find objects scattered throughout the adventure parts of the game, but this time they are spread across multiple scenes, and don't need a trigger to appear. There a bit more to-ing and fro-ing, but we have a central area that we return to, and eventually previous areas will no longer be accessible. There is no MAP or fast-travel, but the way the game is structured, I don't feel that they were really needed. Lovely little Mira (our fairy HINT button) is a bit more helpful during the adventure portions, and though there is still no directional hint, it's not hard to figure out what we need to be doing. Periodically we'll find tarot cards, and each one has x-number the same item to find on it (ie. find 10 stars.) These cards help us along our way, and also add depth to the story in a creative way. Our Journal chronicles - but does not add to - the story, and can contain hints. Some of the puzzle solutions are so specific that most people won't be able to complete them without referencing the journal... or at least MY memory isn't that good! lol~ I recommend avoiding the Goals tab unless you need help, as it is contains spoiler-hints. The hidden object scenes are lightly-interactive, with items in yellow needing some kind of action before you can find them. It didn't seem like there were a lot of HOS in the game, but that is only the find-by-list scenes. There are also the aforementioned items we need to find in the adventure portion, those on the tarot cards, and mid-game there are also several fragmented objects that we will need to find. It's just that these other scenes were so well-integrated into the game that I didn't notice them as much! I will add a spider alert here (we collect them in one scene), but they are not presented in a scary way. They're actually quite pretty! Moonfell Wood felt very puzzle-heavy, and while there are repeating themes to a lot of them, they were presented in such a way that they didn't feel boring or repetitive. Themes include tripeaks*, pattern recognition, matching like pairs/finding the odd one out, untangling ropes, putting pieces back together, swap-the-pieces puzzles, etc. These can be SKIPPED once the meter fills. *We have tripeaks instead of goblinjong this time around, and the mini-game is accessible via the main menu (although we don't get trivia when completing them this time.) This is easy tripeaks, as we have multiple foundation cards to work with. Puzzles can so often disrupt the flow of the story, but everything in this game is so appropriately-paced that it felt perfectly natural to be doing all of these minis. The devs weave together wonder and magic, puzzles, adventure and hidden objects into a beautiful tapestry that was a joy to explore. Without skipping any minis, the game took me 5.5 hours to complete. Absolutely recommended, I enjoyed every minute of it.
I absolutely love this series! The graphics and scenery are so beautiful! I love the fairy tale style of the series! Don't get me wrong, I do enjoy some spooky, mystery stories but it's just nice to be able to lose yourself in a gorgeous fairy tale now and then. The story follow Sophia as she continues her journey through the Goblin Kingdom to find the rest of her kind...humans! The mini-games you come across are for the most part pretty easy to do, some much easier than others. Often the goblins who help you along, will want you to play a game of Tri-Peaks with them....it's a version of Solitaire, which is actually really fun to play. This game is not a CE but you definitely get your money's worth with it...I played for just over 7 hours before finishing it! I loved every minute of it too!! This is the 2nd game in the series and I believe the next one is a CE version, Yay!! I highly recommend this game to all who enjoy IHOG's, especially if you enjoy the Fairy Tale/ Fantasy type ones.
This is the 2nd installation of the game set. It has good scenes and easy to follow paths, HOWEVER, I rate the game a negative because even after searching the internet for clues, I was only able to find 20 items for the Queen in stead of 21 and the Fairy Help was not able to pinpoint the location or help in finding the 21st and therefore the game could not continue. I even re-started the game and counted the beads, but could not resolve. Eventually I just deleted it.
I really, really did not want to give this game a negative review, but I had no choice. This game has tons of puzzles, but all of them are repetitive and the same thing over, and over, and over, and over again. The puzzles ranged from either far too easy to the instructions being far too vague to understand. By the end I was skipping every puzzle because I was sick of doing the same thing over and over again. It was a case of quantity over quality. I much rather the developers did fewer puzzles of more variety and quality than just a repeat of the same over and over. I really didn't want to give it a bad rating, but I had no choice. I have heard the next game "Goblin Kingdom" is the best. I pray it's an improvement.
比无眠之城来说整体感觉解密更多了,而且常常一个套一个,拿到一件东西需要连续玩好几个游戏。量大管饱,必吃👍
Episode 2.
Much better than the first one. I actually enjoyed this one. Pros: Beautiful art Decent story HO scenes are really nice, I especially like the variety added with the cards Cons: No map or fast travel, and a decent amount of backtracking so you have to load through multiple maps and that gets annoying Some repetition of puzzles, but not nearly as bad as with the first one. Hints are better than the first, but still sometimes completely useless.
Charming, calming, beautiful scenery and music. However, I found some of the puzzles to be repetitive. There was less emphasis on hidden objects puzzles and more on jigsaw puzzles or puzzles that require you to put together a broken statue or connect the dots. It was a little bit underwhelming compared to the first game. I'll still continue the series though because I'm a fan of the artwork and the lore.
I like these Awakening games because the story is better than most HOG and continues consistently through all episodes. I enjoy the artwork, too.
Easily recommend! Pros .Fairy tale atmosphere .Lovely clean, clear artwork/graphics/scenes .Enhancing music/sounds .Two difficulty modes .Stationary toolbar .Indication when objects in correct position for possible use .Intricate and challenging adventure play .Mildly to moderately challenging hidden object scenes .Mildly to moderately challenging mini-puzzles .Good length Cons .Tedious story .No mini-map (so no fast travel) .Lots of tracking back and forth .Adventure scenes repeated with new objects and actions for more tracking back and forth thru the same scenes .Same type of mini-puzzles repeated. And repeated. And repeated. .Hint system is more miss than hit .Clicky-pickly Final thoughts (7/10): Charming game. Appropriate for any age.
