About
Welcome to the Living Lands, a mysterious island filled with adventure and danger.
Set in the fictional world of Eora that was first introduced to players in the Pillars of Eternity franchise, Avowed is a first-person fantasy action RPG from the award-winning team at Obsidian Entertainment.
The Living Lands is an island where the air hums with ancient magic, the flora seems to move with a mind of its own, and the ground beneath your feet shifts with secrets waiting to be unearthed.
Now, the Living Lands faces a dire threat—a mysterious plague that defies nature and reason, spreading chaos across its sprawling wilderness.
As an envoy of Aedyr, you are sent to investigate, but what begins as a mission of duty soon becomes deeply personal—you feel as though the land recognizes you and is pulling you toward something greater. The choices you make will ripple across the Living Lands, shaping the fates of its people, its creatures, and even yourself. But beware, for every decision carries weight, and the forces you encounter will not hesitate to test your resolve.
Can you navigate the tangled web of intrigue, power, and danger to uncover the truth? Can you save this unknown frontier and your soul from the forces threatening to tear them asunder?
Even more to do in the game! This update brings New Game Plus, a Photo Mode, a brand new weapon type with two-handed staves, the ability to change character appearance whenever you’d like, new character creation presets, additional Godlike presets, custom game difficulty settings, and the addition of three new playable races: Dwarf, Aumaua, and Orlan.
The Living Lands is a place that feels foreign yet somewhat intrinsic to you as it feels the island itself is calling out to you for help. Explore an island home to many different environments and landscapes, each with their own unique ecosystem.
Mix and match swords, spells, guns, and shields to fight your way. Dig into your grimoire for spells to trap, freeze or burn enemies, bash them with your shield, or use range bows to attack from a distance.
Companions from a spread of species will fight alongside you, with their own unique set of abilities. From a former mercenary to an eccentric wizard, they will be part of your journey with your choices shaping them as you help them with their quests.

while I love the gameplay and the combat as well as the crafting system is complicated enough to be fun but simple enough to not drive you up the wall. My only complaint is that the dialogue is a but under par. The game seems to force you to chose the side of the locals and it is almost impossible to side with the empire, This would be fine if they didn't start you out as one of the top agents of the empire. When you make dialogue choices siding with the empire your allies look at you like you just murdered their dog and are so surprised that the imperial envoy would side with the interests of the empire.
Mucho mejor de lo esperado, muy divertido
i have played for 4 hours, really fun and interesting story and gameplay
Parkour Simulator 2025 Combat is fun, exploration is rewarding, and movement feels good. I adore the companions (though I learned some people only like tsundere if they're cute anime girls from how people talk about Marius) and the story is engaging enough to make me feel conflicted about my decisions. I haven't finished it yet (I keep getting distracted mapping out every inch of the wilderness) but I'm confident the game will continue to deliver.
오픈월드 게임 할거없나 해서 했는데 50퍼 이상 세일할때 사면 그냥저냥 할만한듯 더이상 할 오픈월드 AAA 게임이 없다는 전제 하에
Avowed is a pretty good RPG. Staying true to the lore of it's predecessors Pillars Of Eternity I n II. The game is leaning more towards POE II, with lots of colours and modern day (western DEV) graphics style (generous amounts of purple, pink etc.) as well as lighter stories and lore, instead of POE I which was more gothic, dark (no purple and pink, more like graphics of eastern DEV/old school western DEV) and mature. The game is divided into maps, which are "open world" - but you have to travel between them with a loading screen, like in older games (Baldurs Gate or even Pillars Of Eternity etc.). The story is pretty good and lore accurate for the world, the voice acting and writing is very good, although it's marred by corporate checklist "woke". Avowed is taking place in the frontiers, that has fallen on hard times, but we see a surprising amount of women as soldiers, captains and leaders - and they all look like they just left a nail saloon - they're not dirty and covered in mud and blood. So far all the leading roles have been woman, except one leader, which was a gay/metro sexual ambassador. There have been 4-5 "love stories" in lore bits etc., and 4 of them were lesbian, while one was not. These things are really immersion breaking and reminding the player, that they are playing a game, made by a studio, bought by a big corporation, that wants to ham fist a bit of the current popular policies into the game, even though they do not match the game world, at all. I hope Obsidian are allowed to make Avowed II the way they want, without (Microsoft, presumeably) ordering them to hamfist, current day policy into the game. The gameworld, lore, graphics, story, combat etc., is there, the biggest con for this game is the immersion killers.
similar to skyrim and elder scrolls oblivion.. I like..
Another universe to explore from Obsidian, but essentially a reskin of Outer Worlds and by extension, FONV. The games are of course completely distinct experiences but what they share is their downsides, which in case of FONV could be forgiven due to the given circumstances. Read further before raining down hate ;) --- TLDR: Story: 9/10 Setting: 9/10 Lore: 9/10 Characters, dialogues: 8/10 Combat: 4/10 Map design: 6/10 RPG elements: 6/10 Loot elements: 4/10 Controls: 4/10 --- Great story, lore and setting, very fun to interact with. But as is becoming a standard, the overall game feel is dragged down by the fact that EVERYTHING other than the quest design looks like minimum viable products. Combat is pretty original and sometimes a lot of fun, but not finished, not providing enough ways to counter enemy behaviours and generally bland after a few dozen fights. Progression doesn't feel much impactful, 95% of the combat impact is from having an upgraded weapon. If your weapon is not up to snuff, you're dealing a lot less damage and if its overleveled (which is less common as game gates upgrade resources behind main quest progression - unlocking new regions) it slices through enemies like butter. Weapons upgrades and regions are just a copy and paste 4 times with different flavour. i love the fact that items get new visuals when going up a rarity tier, and maps are not bland, each of them have its kind of feel and charm, but apart from POIs especially Galawain's tusks are just a boring wasteland. The end of the story is cool enough, you can make impactful decisions but the way the game builds up to it, leads to a humongous letdown. you've made choices throughout the whole game and while some of the less impactful ones are reflected in the ending credits (FONV style), the ones you think would be the most important ones that you made throughout your interaction with other characters are completely ignored and rendered inconsequential. no matter what you did the whole game you can ALWAYS pick your favourite flavour of ending and there ain't really any difference based on the main turning points during your journey. So my ending summary: fun to mess around with but grossly underdeveloped, leading to a mediocre experience at best. I get the feeling that Obsidian should just pair up with another studio and just focus on the story and overall design of the setting and quests. They're amazing at that but everything else they make in their games is just an afterthought.
I finished in about five days. I enjoyed my time but won't go back. The upgrade system is so very greedy that you will be lucky to have a single legendary by the end. I think they expected people to do multiple play throughs but I think most people will finish it once only. The companions are great. The main story is pretty weak. The villains are terrible and transparent. The driving force is annoying as hell. A petulant child and conversations with it were the worst part of the game for me. The ending movies that wraps everything up was nice. Your choices do affect the ending movie but really there are two main choices for the game, call it the good choice or the bad choice. You will have to go out of your way to make the bad choice as the everyone in the game begs you not to, its not subtle. I loved the art style. The combat was fun but tedious at times. Weapons didn't really feel too different to me. All the standard fantasy stuff and guns! The magic system is pretty interesting but under powered I felt. All in all a solid games. I didn't 100%, I would guess I did about 85-90%. 4k, DLSS performance, raytracing. I didn't have any issues.
the game was very much okay. My main complaint. Is the New Game+. Forcing you to play the same build again is outrageously stupid. I want to play the game again, slightly stronger, not from base stats. But I don't want to play the same game again as a wizard. It is incredibly ridiculous. They screwed New Game+ up royally. Further, the story writing is very much lacking. The idea of forcing a decision out of someone and then having them listen to punishing negative dialogue from their stupid NPCs is also stupid. Game play and overall exploration and fun I had for the first playthrough? 8.5/10 Worth playing again? eh. 5.5/10
