We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 5/day in the week to Aug 4 → 13/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,404 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.
About
Welcome to the Living Lands, a mysterious island filled with adventure and danger.
Set in the fictional world of Eora that was first introduced to players in the Pillars of Eternity franchise, Avowed is a first-person fantasy action RPG from the award-winning team at Obsidian Entertainment.
The Living Lands is an island where the air hums with ancient magic, the flora seems to move with a mind of its own, and the ground beneath your feet shifts with secrets waiting to be unearthed.
Now, the Living Lands faces a dire threat—a mysterious plague that defies nature and reason, spreading chaos across its sprawling wilderness.
As an envoy of Aedyr, you are sent to investigate, but what begins as a mission of duty soon becomes deeply personal—you feel as though the land recognizes you and is pulling you toward something greater. The choices you make will ripple across the Living Lands, shaping the fates of its people, its creatures, and even yourself. But beware, for every decision carries weight, and the forces you encounter will not hesitate to test your resolve.
Can you navigate the tangled web of intrigue, power, and danger to uncover the truth? Can you save this unknown frontier and your soul from the forces threatening to tear them asunder?
Even more to do in the game! This update brings New Game Plus, a Photo Mode, a brand new weapon type with two-handed staves, the ability to change character appearance whenever you’d like, new character creation presets, additional Godlike presets, custom game difficulty settings, and the addition of three new playable races: Dwarf, Aumaua, and Orlan.
The Living Lands is a place that feels foreign yet somewhat intrinsic to you as it feels the island itself is calling out to you for help. Explore an island home to many different environments and landscapes, each with their own unique ecosystem.
Mix and match swords, spells, guns, and shields to fight your way. Dig into your grimoire for spells to trap, freeze or burn enemies, bash them with your shield, or use range bows to attack from a distance.
Companions from a spread of species will fight alongside you, with their own unique set of abilities. From a former mercenary to an eccentric wizard, they will be part of your journey with your choices shaping them as you help them with their quests.

I really love this game. One of my favorite things is that you can play as different races, especially dwarves. I've always loved dwarves in fantasy games, so that was a huge plus for me. The combat feels decent overall. The first-person combat can feel a little awkward because every time I hit an enemy it feels like my character gets stuck to them for a moment, almost like a lag or magnet effect. However, third-person combat feels much smoother and more enjoyable. I also love the bow mechanics. When aiming at an enemy, the game shows where their weak spots are, which is a really nice feature and makes ranged combat feel rewarding. Visually, the game looks great. The textures and lighting are beautiful, and there is a lot to explore throughout the world. My biggest complaint is the sprinting. Why does sprinting feel so restricted? Moving around isn't always smooth because sprinting will randomly stop or fail to activate when you're in tighter or smaller spaces. It can make exploration and movement feel frustrating at times.

The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Sep 2: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

I picked this up on sale because I love fantasy RPGs, and this really seemed like an ARPG with the bones of a CRPG. Dialogue trees, a long deep story, a fully realized world... I was not disappointed. I had heard negative things about this game, such as poor dialogue, and I have to say I feel this might have been a bit of a mass hallucination. Maybe people didn't give the game a chance for some reason? I went in completely unspoiled, completely blind and found a beautiful world. I understand that "weird" fantasy might not be for everyone, and the game is definitely weird. It is a world of color, and mushrooms, guns and spellsplinging, a break from the over reliance on LOTR derived trops (though they are still present). I have never played pillars of eternity, but from what I can tell from the in game glossary pillars fans will find much to appreciate in the story. I got this on sale because I was on the fence due to some negative reviews, but knowing what I know now I would recommend it to anyone who wants an action RPG they can really sink there teeth into. A great game to play between college semesters when you have the time to explore its very expansive world. On a few specific points: Companions: The companions are great, especially Kai the first one. They all have good pacing in the time it takes for them to open up to you and unlike many RPGs it doesn't feel like there is a "drought" of character development in the latter half. The characters have TONS of dialogue for every choice in every quest, and it was a breath of fresh air compared to some RPGs where your characters become very flat at the end because their stories are "wrapped up" and they stop asking you questions or interacting with you. This party is small, but deep. Additionally, if you are just idling in camp there seems to an almost bottomless amount of companion dialogues to experience from friendly banter to backstory building emotional melodrama. I would say everyone but Yatzli has more going on than whats on the surface. Yatzli annoys some people, maybe the "wine aunt" personality just doesn't appeal to a lot of gamers. RPG mechanics: Surprising number of options from a simple system. There are plenty of ways to either focus all in on one playstyle or mix and match options. I played a gunslinging shock mage. One really nice thing is that ANY unique item you find in the game can be upgraded all the way through the end of the game. This means loot in the first area is just as relevant as the last area which is great. The downside of this is that anything that isnt a unique reward is just stuff to be sold off, so only the Unique loot is very exciting. Traversal and Map Design: The game world is easily the best part of this game. Not only are there beautiful with some amazing views where you can see the map sprawling into the distance, but they make good use of verticality and the games parkour/mantle system. There are so many secrets and hidden chests around its almost like an entire other game to itself. I spent 2 hours in the first city just exploring every nook and cranny, finding all the hidden loot and listening to the well written NPC dialogue that really fleshes out the world. A really nice diversity of environment types too. I almost wish Dawnshore wasn't the first zone because its the most grounded and "generic" fantasy of all of them. If people don't make it past the first area I think some might not realize just how diverse the zones in this game are. There is some level of repeated assets, the game makes HEAVY use of glowing mushrooms plastered over everything, this is the Living (mushroom) Lands after all. But I would see it as doing a lot with a little, rather than laziness. Additionally the mushrooms and coral aesthetics kind of weave through all the zones so its sort of a unifying "mushroom-punk" aesthetic. Themes: The game deals a lot with the themes of colonialism and offers you a few ways to approach this. Your player character is from Aedyr, an expansive empire who is trying to make inroads into the living lands to exploit them economically. This conflicts with the frontier free spirit of the territory, made up of cast offs, runaways and refugees from all over the world. This creates a melting pot, maritime series of city states who aren't eager to experience the military muscle of a bigger empire. As the envoy, you have a decent amount of authority to influence Aedyr's presence as cooperative and helpful or opportunistic and militaristic. The companions are all locals, so they will generally have some friction with you as you represent the power causing a lot of problems in the region. This is very engaging to me from a story telling perspective, and I think players who want to be forceful or nice will get a lot out of this. The other layer is that of man versus nature, but I think it would hard to explain those ideas without major spoilers, but it also ties in to the colonial aspect.
Embarassing dialogue and voice acting. Unlikable companions. Lack of choice. Pretty graphics.
I really dislike how i play for maybe a few minutes and then the game crashes on my pc when i have the appropriate hardware to run it
Sehr schönes gutes Spiel. Wer Skyrim liebt, liebt dieses Spiel auch. Erkunden macht hier endlich mal wieder Sinn, sehr viel zu entdecken und versteckte Schätze.
A Half-Finished Product That Doesn't Deserve the Obsidian Name The experience is a constant struggle against the game itself. Avowed is simply not finished. Exploration is ruined at every turn by bugs that constantly break immersion: falling through the map, missing collisions in critical areas, and especially in the northern part of the first world where progress becomes a nightmare. It's truly disappointing to see a product like this come from Obsidian. It's clear there wasn't enough polish or QA testing. I cannot recommend buying this until they patch these basic flaws.
Having played most of the first area, I feel like I can definitely recommend this game at its current price. I'm a big fan of Pillars 1 and 2 and was disappointed when I saw the restricted scope and lack of class features from the first two games (No cipher, chanter, etc.). Even though this isn't necessarily what I wanted from a Skyrim-esque Pillars game, it's still pretty good. The combat is fun and actually requires some thoughtful use of abilities and items to not die, at least on hard. This is probably the best pure mage gameplay I've played in any kind of action game, though the spell variety is limited. The combat is not as mechanically deep as something like BG3 and not as mindless as something like Skyrim, but somewhere in the middle. I wouldn't say that you need to have played the other games to enjoy this one. In fact, it might be more fun to be dropped in the deep end lore-wise and might make you want to play Pillars 1 and 2 to see what the heck happened before Avowed.
