Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0/day in the week to Aug 25 → 0/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

If you were not a fan of the game/series when it was first released 30 years ago, there is not really any reason to play this, especially since it feels like it's 30 years old in spite of the "remake."
Resolution settings are wonky and doesn't work right on my 1080p resolution on a widescreen monitor.
An old-school RPG that's worth a play.
Old school graphics but great gameplay and story.
Another great game from Spiderweb Software. The Avernum games are always fantastic dungeon crawlers.
https://youtu.be/XU1M2C717Ws Easily an overlooked classic crunchy RPG with a nice sense of humor and deep narrative lore. Some elements are definitely clunky but it's worth giving it a shot.
Fantastic old-school style RPG. Loads of play time. Interesting and unique world. Well-written game.
This is honestly such a great game, but I really do miss the old character/enemy design. This version is higher quality than a simple sprite, but the designs looked better in the old version, anything from the giants, to the goblins, soldiers, etc.
This one’s a tough nut to crack, but let’s start with the positives. Overall, this is the best game in the original trilogy. There are tons of quests to take on, a large world to explore, and I quite enjoyed the story—even if it’s not as strong as the first two games. I played the Avernum trilogy back-to-back, and I can confidently say you should definitely buy all of them—NOW! The third game is superb up until the endgame, which unfortunately becomes a bit boring, especially the final boss fight. It’s a shame the trilogy ends on a bit of a meh note, but that’s really my only gripe with this masterpiece. 9/10, would play again. No regerts!
