Reviews
A fantastic fighting game, that is sadly partially unfinished, on launch. The story mode is forgettable and the lack of ranked on launch is disappointing... but man is this game incredibly fun. All the characters feel like great representations of themselves, have unique gameplay identities and are simply fun to play. Plus, the hand drawn sprites look phenomenal and have so much personality, especially the smear frames that show up when someone gets hit. But I think my favorite thing here is that this feels like a neutral heavy fighting game. You can absolutely get cooked by someone who's way better than you, but it never feels like you're stuck in the corner, with seemingly no options to get out. The defensive options make it fun to wait out your opponent's turn and then take back yours. And the movement, while admittedly something I'm not using enough, is super fun and can let you really chase someone down, evade all of their attacks or you can use it as a quick way to approach and disengage, if you want to try playing footsies, which is usually my favorite way to play. But genuinely, the game is just fun to play. I like the characters, I like the mechanical depth and the options I have, and the fact that your opponent can hear every time you press the rematch button is deeply funny. After all, why shouldn't I rick roll them, when they're waiting too long to rematch me. If you're a newcomer to fighting games who's afraid to get stomped online, I'd recommend potentially waiting until they add ranked, so that there's a way to play against opponents at roughly your skill level. But even without that, you can get by with mashing the light button to get an auto combo. The tutorials are fine. There's some cool ideas, like a thing that pauses the time for each input of a combo, so you can get used to pressing the buttons in the right order and with the right timing, but they're otherwise nothing to write home about. Also, I'm pretty sure some of the character tutorials and trials might still be using earlier versions of a character. I did a Korra tutorial where 236B was the B follow up of 236A/B, skipping the initial water blast. Not a major issue, but not ideal if you want to learn the game and then spend time on something you can't do anymore. I hope the devs fix this, alongside things like some of the combo trials for some of the characters being bugged, from what I've seen online. So yeah, absolutely banger fighting game that seems to really respect the characters and has super fun mechanics and gameplay, but it's a pity that it was forced to launch early, when it clearly wasn't 100% finished. Even so, what is here already is still one of my favorite fighting games, and I'm looking foraward to playing more of it

Love the avatar series, love that it's getting the content it deserves. Good game
Easily the best Avatar game there is quality wise after The Legend of Korra game. Not saying much after years of medicore lisenced games we got.
Send word to the Fire Lord immediately. The Avatar has returned.
arcade scores don't get saved somehow, the roster is lacking at best and there is no setting for CPU difficulty. all BIG nonos
THE BEST
Jogo extremamente divertido, mais ainda falta personagem
Gameplay is so satisfying, feels perfect to play.
very fun
The hardest thing for any fighting game to get right is the core gameplay, and Avatar Legends The Fighting Game absolutely nails it. Unlike another studio, releasing a game at the same time with a similarly famous IP, but with a massive budget--who alternatively IMO just made a game that feels stiff and overly produced. So it is impressive to see a small team deliver combat that is this responsive and engaging. It doesn't waste your time, and I am loving it as much when I am getting destroyed as when I am doing the destroying. Probably because in addition to being fun it is also genuinely hilarious, packed with personality, and beautiful to look at. It doesn't rely on endless cut scenes or flashy background distractions to keep your attention. The UI still has room to improve, but that seems to be coming in the next patch. I am pumped for the next season of characters. Hence, plan to support this game and the incredibly talented people behind it. They have built something special.
