An amazing platformer that seems to have been overlooked amongst all the game releases recently. The music is pleasant to listen to and if you want to, you can try and go for the gold times in every level but otherwise there's plenty of content for what's on offer here.
I... Didn't enjoy playing this. The limited controls feel too limited, a lot of the game felt very automatic quick time events. A lot of text from the very beginning of the game, it felt exhausting to follow through (I wish we started with gameplay as the guy who delivers the message, fused this with the tutorial, leading into the first cutscene). The ground pound felt very annoying to use, very precise (no slow down or anything despite seeing the aim, perhaps slowdown effect as an accessibility feature?), didn't like how if I didn't click rmb immediately it wouldn't bounce, wasting time, and that's 33% of total moves you have so if something doesn't feel good, it's a big problem. Graphics are great but also unclear with what's dangerous in such high speeds, making so much of it trial and error which never feels good in a game about speed... So why did I mark this as recommended? Well, I simply believe that there would be lots of other people would love it. People who enjoy learning levels and precise inputs, those who can achieve high speeds with practice and not reaction speed. From what I saw on Twitter, I was hyped but it just... Wasn't for me. The game is still great though! It looks amazing! From little what I read, I liked the writing, music ain't half bad and I can see a lot of creativity from even world 2! It just... Spoke to me, but couldn't keep me on the hook. I highly recommend other people giving it a try because the issues I have with the game are the kind that others simply may not have! (also I had a bad first impression because for whatever reason the first cutscene repeated again until I skipped it myself, weird.) Some games, despite in a genre I like or looking like they should be a right fit for me, just aren't and vice versa. But the question is if I recommend it or not and well... I advise you to give it a shot if you like precision platformers, learning layouts of levels, high speeds or simple controls being part of the challenge. Lastly if I had any suggestions for devs, I'd love to see some assist features so the game can be fine tuned to fit more people's liking, because of its simple controls, it has to be veeeeery good, exactly how you like it otherwise the whole game suffers from even the tiniest of things. I may revisit this title someday, but for now, I'll focus on other games that are waiting for me to play or finish.
Fantastic physics-based precision platforming/speedrunning gameplay. Really novel control scheme. If you like speed games at all you will enjoy this.
clearly a little gem for fans of platformers with high skill ceiling and speedrun challenges :)
